Burnout Paradise - Image 1The Burnout Team is doing Speed. Need for Speed, that is. Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello clarified that the NFS and Burnout franchise will NOT be merging into one, although the Burnout Team, frontlined by Alex Ward of Criterion Games, will be taking care of the next NFS iteration.

"Alex is one of the people in the industry I would analogize to the great filmmakers, etc," he told Kotaku in a chat at E3 last week. "He is a true creative visionary. We had a great fight about what the next Need for Speed would be like. Of course, he gets to win because it's his call. It's not that I'm without an opinion on it."

Would you like to have a Burnout-NFS merger?

Might turn out to be the first Need for Speed I actually enjoy playing then.

» As long as it doesn't play like Burnout Paradise.

I like how they did The Need For Speed: Most Wanted. Now that is more like how it should be. Don't get me wrong. Burnout Paradise is a pretty good game but I don't care for the controls much. It seems like no matter how much I play it, I can't quit crashing into stuff. That gets annoying when your racing and crash every ten seconds. Other Burnout games and other racing games in general were great though and I didn't have that problem.

a combination of NFS:Most Wanted
+ Burnout Revenge would be great.

All of the Burnout games are really good, and that's saying something cuz theres 5 of them and series usually implode by the 5th installment. But Burnout keeps getting better. These guys can prob make one of the best NFS games yet

I haven't bought a NFS game in years. This kinda gets my interest. I just cant wait for Forza 3, that game looks great.

 » NFS Most Wanted

was the best of the Next Gen era. It had glitches like the infamous running into a invisible wall issue but the game was fun. I played that game all the way through. And the online racing was cool. Hopefully the can use Most Wanted as their platform to build off of.
