Electronic Arts is pulling out all the stops for Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath. The upcoming expansion pack for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (Xbox 360, Windows PC) will feature an all-star celebrity cast for its live-action video sequences.
Natasha Henstridge, best known for her roles in the Species movie trilogy, will play the part of Alexa, while Alias' Carl Lumbly will play Marcion. Command & Conquer veteran Joe Kucan will reprise the role of the megalomaniacal Kane. Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath will introduce six new sub-factions as well as new units, structures, and powers to the armies of the Global Defense Initiative, the Brotherhood of Nod, and the alien Scrin. The game's Xbox 360 version will debut a new radial interface designed specifically for console gamers. EALA's Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath will ship in Spring 2008. |

Electronic Arts finally released Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
Version 1.09 Patch for both Games for Windows and Mac users, with enough bug fixes and balance changes that make
it worth the wait. As hinted before, the capacity of Harvesters
significantly changed and some infantry units got buffed. Grenadier
Squads and Commandos, among others, are deadlier than ever.Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars' patch took care of annoying bugs, like one that allowed players to detect enemy structures even through the shroud by exploiting the Set Rally Point marker. However, what most competitive C&C followers would take note of is the 42% drop of Harvesters' carrying capacity. It takes 8 seconds less to complete a gathering cycle, but income rate still lowered by around 35%. Aside from the change in economy, it's also important to know which units got affected by the patch if you want to be on top of your game. The Mammoth Tank, for example, is now less effective in changing targets after its turret turn rate was reduced - jumping into battle with these big babies without considering the nerf be a disaster. For those in the Brotherhood of Nod, the Tiberium Vapor Bomb may be more attractive now that it can cause 140% more damage. Cooldown time also significantly increased, but making use of its improved power during crucial moments should prove to be devastating. Balance changes happened across the board, like the Scrin Phase Field support power losing its ability to affect infantry, but gains 50% faster cooldown time. Some maps like the Barstow Badlands,Tournament Tower, Pipeline Problems, and Tiberium Gardens III (Kane Edition) were also rebalanced, but our favorite would have to be the brand new Wrecktropolis multiplayer map this patch introduced. Wrecktropolis is a big ruin, the perfect playground for up to four players. We can go on and on about the nice changes in Version 1.09, but you probably want to find the patch yourself, so just click on the Read link below to see the complete changelog and download links from the Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars' website. European strategy fans may find it a bit of a let down but we have to break it to them that Electronic Arts decided not to release their special collection Command & Conquer Saga on the other side of the Atlantic. The Command & Conquer Saga compendium will be a North American release exclusively, and it fetches the low price of US$ 49.99 considering that you're getting a motherlode of RTS icons from the series that brought the genre to new heights. Featured in Command & Conquer Saga are unforgettable stand-alones and expansions from the West wood days to the current-day EA IPs. Leading the bunch will be the latest installment in the franchise: Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars which was released earlier in the year. This is the perfect time to grab this mind-blower if you missed it the first time around because it's coming with all its predecessors including the very first Command & Conquer, the first-person shooter Renegade and lots more. |

Electronic Arts has put on quite a nice celebration for the 12th anniversary of its Command & Conquer franchise. One of the highlights is the free Command & Conquer full game download. Now, the special Command & Conquer Gold edition is also available and it can be yours only until October 3, 2007.The Gold Edition shares the same storyline with some added features that enrich the gameplay. Command & Conquer fans will be able to tell what those are exactly as they rediscover the origins of the GDA and Brotherhood of Nod's long-running feud. Command & Conquer Gold was released shortly after the first Command & Conquer under developer Westwood. Westwood was then acquired by EA, and the rest, as they say, is history. |
