Although Blizzard has always been one to decline from giving out any release projections unless they're damn sure they'll meet it, StarCraft II's 2010 launch seems to be firmly set in stone. Not so for Diablo III.

Kotaku reports that during an Activision Blizzard presentation in New York today, company CFO Thomas Tippl presented a slide (pic below) that put Diablo III's release in the "next few years." The last we heard of a release date, it was set for 2011 at the soonest.

Diablo III won't be alone in that very wide release window, however. Also mentioned in the slide are the StarCraft II expansions and an unannounced MMO.

 » Unannounced MMO?

Yikes, are they preparing for people to become uninterested in World of Warcraft? They're going to compete with themselves! Unless it's a free MMO like Guild Wars that will be used as a time passer.. or maybe it's like a different genre

and I love how it's announced as Unannounced MMO

MMO doesn't mean it has to be a MMORPG. It could also be a MMOFPS or something completely different. There was a gaem called Starcraft: Ghost in development, which was cancelled. Maybe they revive it as a MMOFPS.

they sure do take their time, i hear this has been worked on since right after diablo 2 was released. if it really takes them 10+ years to do, it better be good. they never do disappoint anyway so it should be anyway.

 » Old news.

We have known about the unannounced MMO for some time. Blizzard mentioned they had one in the works. What I had been wondering and still am is what exactly they have in mind. Either way its Blizzard, everyone will buy it no matter what, including myself.
