Ó

Patrice Desiléts recently spoke with Gametrailers for some very welcome Assassin's Creed II (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) talk. This was supposed to be just your average interview - questions asked, developer answers, footage shown, then we're done. Although this interview did manage to get that done well, the Ubisoft creative director utters a few words that don't belong in a developer interview. In fact, I'm not even gonna post the words used here - you'll have to watch this video to find out.

Minors, be advised.

Well that's something you don't see everyday. The slip = understandable. The follow-up = facepalm. Now we know he won't be keynoting anything anytime soon. There are some things you just don't say in an interview. And no, being a French Canadian doesn't change a thing.

And oh, Ezio's got some cool moves too.

I don't think GT cared that much, they put it up without edit.. so... neither do I.

I don't get Patrice's claim tho... I'm an English speaking Canadian... and I seem to throw around s*** and f*** just as much... it's not like the french are the "bad-asses" of Canada :P

1. Saying French "Canadian" is an insult, please edit that Glenn M. It's French Canadien.

2. Who cares what he said in an interview.

3. Being French Canadien does make a difference. His native language is French. If he swears in French, it's curse word. If he swears in English, it's nothing to French people.

It's like everyone saying "Scheisse". I'm going to guess Scheisse isn't censored by QJ and "*****" (poop) is, even though they mean the same thing. It's because the native language on QJ is english so "*****" means something. If the native language was German, "Scheisse" would mean something and "*****" would not.

So learn something Glenn M.

Taken from Wikipedia:

French Canadian (also Canadien in Canadian English or in French, or Canadien français in French).

He spelled it right. Way to go and start bashing Glenn for that lol.

On topic, what a sick interview. This guy cracks me up and I really like the direction he is taking this game. Seems like such and improvement.

French Canadiens prefer Canadien. The don't like being apart of Canada to begin with.

If you were a Canadien you would know. It's like calling ALL southern Americans Rednecks.

Wouldn't the pronunciation be the same?

   Re: ChaosZero112 - 2009-10-30

They would.

Maybe I'm just saying *****. I just know when I was in Montreal for a week everything was written canadien. And referred to us as canadians. It's how (some) of them tell themselves apart from the rest of the english speaking population (they're the proud french speaking population).

Im guessing you are french canadian, shut up. You are so ignorant and think nothing but for yourselves. We constantly waste our tax money to pay for your stupid "arts" when really its just to keep you people happy. Either accept being part of canada or split from us and see how long you last without the constant support you recieve.

No. I'm born and raised in southern Ontario O_o

I'm not even related to any french canadians.

You nailed that one wrong :P

Ill make this simple. If your not French Canadian or Canadien, WHY THE HELL DO YOU CARE?!?!
   by GodShiru - 2009-10-29
 » Yeaaaaahhhh.....

Being a quebecer myself, I'd rather they say canadian over canadien, and I've never heard of anyone I know thinking otherwise. Faque j'pense que tu t'es fourré dans tes statistiques, dude.

(I think you got your statistics wrong, for the non-french canadiAns)

Then why are you guys always like "blarg! We don't want to be a part of Canada, Blarg. We want to be independent! We're Canadien! Blarg".

And the Montreal Canadiens.

   Re: GodShiru - 2009-10-30
 » Err.

The Canadiens team name is in French, because it's a French team name. Nothing to do with politics whatsoever. And some of us are separatists but again this has nothing to do with how we call ourselves.
