Good news to all you big Gears of War fans out there who can never get over the bug-blasting event of 2006: The National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) has announced that it's releasing action figures based on the popular Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC game. The goodies should hit stores around Spring of 2008, so you better save up some cash.

The first wave of action figures will come in the form of hero Marcus Fenix, cohort Augustus Cole, and of course, the Locust Drones we've all come to love for their beautiful arterial sprays when they host our bullets with their bodies.

Gears of War by Epic Games is an Xbox 360 and PC title which has won tremendous critical acclaim and commercial success in its heyday. To date, it has sold over four million copies across the planet, and is regarded as one of seventh-generation gaming's true elites.
