SCi Entertainment - Image 1

If you've been keeping up with the takeover dealie with SCi Entertainment, then you'd have caught wind of the company revealing that it had just shot down one of its potential suitors. Now we catch wind of that suitor itself revealing its identity to the public, and it's none other than Infogrames, the people who brought us the Alone in the Dark series. Let's see what they have to say about the deal that could've been.

So, just what went wrong? No one knows for sure, but Infogrames did say that they had quite the interesting offer to make SCi. They didn't reveal the numbers or the financial details of this offer, but they did say that as a company, it had what SCi Entertainment was looking for in a potential buyer. Infogrames' statement, verbatim:

Infogrames has sufficient resources to satisfy the cash element of its indicative offer and has secured commitments in relation to the potential working capital requirements of the enlarged group. Importantly, Infogrames is in a position to move expeditiously with its proposal.

Well, that certainly explains the mystery suitor that SCi turned down in an earlier update. It's just too bad that Infogrames got turned down - it certainly would've been interesting to see what the Alone in the Dark team could have done with Lara Croft, seeing as they have the moolah to make the relationship work. Updates as we get them.
