The latest line of 55-nm processors from semiconductor giant Intel will be releasing a tad bit earlier than estimated, says the new information we've extracted from Taiwan's DigiTimes. Pushed back from a November to December shipping, the "Bloomfield" processors were claimed to launch this September instead.

This information comes from sources inside motherboard manufacturing firms who confided to Taiwan's IT-focused news site that even the launching of the new Nehalem micro-architecture and the Bloomfield generation will not affect the previous products directly. This indicates that the seasonal price drops of Intel's processors may not see a follow up in price reduction.

Though the Nehalem platform will launch on the ninth month of 2008, it was revealed that one month will lapse before the products fully enter commercial channels. We have yet to confirm these claims.

But as AMD has also scheduled the launching of the AM3 platform and its new line of processors, you could expect Intel to try winning the crowd earlier than the competition. More updates as we get them.
