Postal 3 to be released by RWS sometime in 2008 - Image 1 Postal 3 to be released by RWS sometime in 2008 - Image 2 Postal 3 to be released by RWS sometime in 2008 - Image 3

Video game development studio Running With Scissors (RWS) has a reputation for making bloody and gore-marred titles. One good testament to this is the Postal franchise with the first game being released ten years ago. Speaking of which, RWS just released three new screenshots for Postal 3.

Quite curiously, these images are nothing more but teasers. The blood and gore that we mentioned above cannot be seen in these screenshots. Instead, what we have here are snapshots of the new title's locations. To be quite honest, we were kind of expecting to see what Mr. The Postal Dude Jr. looks like today.

For those not familiar with this series, Postal follows the exploits of Postal Dude after he was evicted from his house. The game itself is a 2D shooter, mainly isometric, but with some top-down levels. Backgrounds are hand painted and the game also borrows some characteristics from the FPS genre.

But just the same, it's good to know that development for Postal 3 is moving along. RWS said that the game will be released some time in 2008 on platforms Xbox 360, Games for Windows (PC), and Mac OS.

Uwe Boll - Image 1It's official, and they don't seem like they're kidding: Uwe Boll's game-to-movie adaptation of Running With Scissors' controversial game isn't just funny, it's "...a damn good movie. Really."

Don't call shenanigans just yet. Todd of twitchfilm.net, the one responsible for the glowing review, states that even though the movie itself was rough, crude and very offensive on all levels, it actually had a message to deliver.

That underneath the absurdity and vulgarity of the film (elements prominently featured in the game Postal), it also had sharp, unrelenting social commentary and witty, unforgiving satire about religious extremism and politics as we know it.

The film is compared to acts that go out of their way to be offensive, such as South Park - except with much higher production values and casting - while hiding smart and biting political wit with toilet humor and violence. This, coupled with a blend of solid writing, an interesting cast, and Uwe Boll's technical skills concerning special effects and editing, as well as experience with game-to-movie adaptations - warrants Postal to be named "an unqualified success, a film that knows what it wants to be and hits all of its marks." Although Todd maintains that the movie isn't exactly for everyone to appreciate - it's as offensive as it can get  - he couldn't remember the last movie that made him laugh that hard before.

If you STILL don't believe us, you can check out the review in its entirety at the read link we've provided below.
