French video game development studio Cyanide and publisher Focus Home Interactive announced today the latest addition to the Pro Cycling Manager series, Pro Cycling Manager/Tour de France 2007. The new title will be available on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and Games for Windows (PC) platforms.

Pro Cycling Manager
has already gathered a following among PC gamers while this is the first time that handheld users will be able to try the game. Both versions of the game will be available this coming June 20.

Aside from the racing aspect of the title, another noteworthy feature is its Management Career Mode. Cyanide said that this mode now offers a more intuitive interface, transfer system, simulation engine, and scouting tools after a significant re-working. Likewise, Tour de France 2007's Real Time Mode has also been improved given its new AI and enhanced graphics.

Aside from the above mentioned, other gameplay mode will include Time Trials, Sprints, and Optimized Race Lengths. The title also sports the 20 official teams and their star cyclists as well as a five season-long careers. The screenshots included in this article are for PC but Focus Home Interactive said that they should give fans an idea of how the PSP version will look like.

The only good bike games are ones where you can punch the sh*t out of other bikers.

Would I ever buy this game? Not a chance. Am I impressed with the amount of people on screen at the same time? Yes. Now make a zombie game like that.

 » um... hooray?

Unless the bike has a motor then I am not too excited about it. Granted this game might appeal to some people Probably the same ones who like the horse manager games. After all bike racing especially the tour de France is crazy popular in France.

Best sarcasm in this thread I'v seen yet. While I have to admit I'd love to FLAME this game and it's developers and wonders what exactly it was they were smoking or shooting up when they came up with this idea the better question is who the Hell would sponcer approve and pay for such development of a game that's obviously going to flop and very hard. In my opinion, and everybodies got one... this game, The UMD it's burned to, wouldn't be good enough to use as my drink coaster. A paper towel would beat the 5h!t out of this game any day.

 » Awesome!

I think this is a great idea for a game! There aren't many bicycle racing games out there, and believe me, I've been looking. I bicycle race for real, and I think this game would be a cool way to review tactics while resting after a fifty mile training ride. Not to mention, it actually doesn't contain any violence (except crashing) and our society is becoming plagued by violent games. Five stars and a double thumbs up from me!

 » Hopefully...

...the PSP version is less buggier than the earlier PC versions. That would make the game totally uselesss. And I'm not sure if the PSP can handle a lot of cyclists on the screen, eg. at sprint situations.
Anyway, I'm optimistic :-)
