We all learned just a couple of days ago that development studio Pseudo Interactive has finally closed its doors to operations. This was brought about when SCi and subsidiary Eidos Interactive encountered problems and dropped several projects.Speaking of which, also mentioned in that report was a list of projects that have been canned because of the closing. One of them was a secret title that was being worked on by Pseudo. This may be a bit heartbreaking, but we just got word that it was actually Carmageddon. The title was originally released back in 1997 for Windows and Mac. Given its gameplay and the tag line "The Racing Game for the Chemically Imbalanced", it's no wonder that Carmageddon was the only game banned in the UK prior to Manhunt 2. Our source added that this is actually part of a bigger restructuring plans that eventually led to the killing off 14 projects and laying off 25% of SCi's total workforce. |

» What a let down...
I loved Carmageddon...
I would love to play a new Carmageddon. It wasn't (only) the gore but the gameplay and missions were really fun and it was all tongue in cheek. Nowhere near as sick as Manhunt.
Bring it back!!!
Come on internet shwo them that we want this!

» Maybe I jinxed it, who knows
Just two weeks ago, I was trying to find some info on a new Carmageddon title hoping they were going to bring it back!!! Hope SCi continues this project!
There is much need for running people over at 100+ in video games that do it right, you know cause I'd feel bad watching the faces of neighbors while they smack the windshield in real life. Ooooh, I know, blind folds!! Problem solved
Guess I'll be putting Carmageddon 2 back on in the meantime...

i remember playing carmageddon too.
i was also saddened after learning that the new one was canned. oh well. if the idea is there, we can just hope that sci realizes this and continue the project. whether with or without pseudo interactive..
