Even though the movie tie-in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2, PC) hasn't yet reached its June 2009 release target, Variety is reporting that according to various sources, Activision already has someone working on another Transformers game for 2010. That "someone" is reportedly High Moon Studios, one of the development companies acquired by Activision in the Vivendi merger. The High Moon game won't be tied to any particular movie, but it sure does follow Activision CEO Bobby Kotick's plan to churn out a Transformers game every year. Former Vivendi studio Radical Entertainment is also rumored to be working on a new Spider-Man game for new owner Activision, although Variety doubts that this is the game slated for this Fall. Variety surmises that Radical's work on Prototype (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) led Activision to tap the developer for a go at the webslinger. Related articles:

I hope that new TF game ain't based on Animated. Easily my least favorite incarnation of Transformers ever. I'm hoping the new movie game will be good. Multiplayer and with those lovely detailed movie models. Please be at least half decent.

The last movie game blows. It was another movie-tie-in shovelware.
At least if it was based on the 80's animated series, we can have another TV series tie-in shovelware like all those Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon games... oh wait.

» this make me sad...
The Transformers license seems like a perfect fit for a Videogame.. yet it's last outing (that sad excuse for a transformers game) based on the Movie was HOT Garbage. I know they are already working on 2 more games.. but if it's just gonna be another Videogame version of ROCK'em Sock'em Robots.. I'll pass.

The first movie game was fine. Not great (some of the combat with the Longarm drones annoyed me) but I certainly found it enjoyable enough and very satisfying controlling the Transformers. At least the home console version. I couldn't stand the PSP one which was a different game.
Best Transformers game so far though was the PS2 game based on the ultra-crap Armada series. Bad cartoon, great game.

I hate activision. They're all about pumping out yearly titles that just ruin franchises.
