Fallout 3 - Image 1Rumors have been circulating on the internet that Bethesda's post-apocalyptic themed video gaming Fallout 3 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC) may not be making it to the land down under.

A poster on the GameSpot forums stated that the game has been denied classification by the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) Board of Australia.

The rumor stated that Fallout 3 was denied classification because it features use of Morphine. The presence of this in the game is said to fall under the OFLC set of reasons for not classifying a video game, specifically this one:

Depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults

If this rumor holds true, then the game can not be sold on retails shelves in Australia. In addition, we can probably expect a resurgence in the talks on expanding the rating system in the country from being limited to MA15+ to going as high as R18+.

don't they have something like AO?

i say, if the ***** is really BAD... dump it in AO, or better yet, POS rating... unless the devs can prove it deserves a "better" rating.

then to add insult to injury... every game with a POS rating has to pay the gov an ADDITIONAL tax (equal to the original sales tax?).

 » Nope

Here in Aus the govt like to treat games as an exclusively for kids thing, and we have no adults only classification, even though one exists for movies (R18+). The highest rating here is MA15+. Thankfully there is a review underway to determine if an R18+ classification for games should be introduced, with public opinion well in favor.

Mind you, even if this rumor is true it wouldn't effect me... I'll just import it regardless because it's cheaper ($65AUD vs $110AUD in stores).

You guys should play the real Fallout games (Fallout 1 and 2). In those games, you could kill people by giving them "jet", win battles by prostitution, and kill children by impaling them with a stick.

Of course, the original Fallouts were a much better game than this... thing. It should be called "Oblivion with guns".

When did you get to play the complete game?? Can I have the copy since you didnt like it?

Wait I know, shut the hell up about games that havnt even had gameplay footage released.

» ah you cant look back now and say how graphic the first 2 where

i mean it was like stick people back then. games have became much more than just throw this spear at a person and they turn red. its more graphic and real now and this deserves a proper rating system in line with movies because after all they are as close as you can get right now.

 » Exactly

That is precisely my point. This game will be all graphics and no fun.
