The Xbox 360 exclusivity of the Grand Theft Auto IV expansions has never been fully explained by Microsoft and Rockstar Games. Is it timed or truly, 100%, no-more-questions-please exclusive?

A recent update for GTA IV's PC version has again thrown that exclusivity into question after it allegedly added Games For Windows Live achievements for The Lost and Damned. Here's a screencap from GTA4.net:

The Lost and Damned PC achievements? - Image 1

Rockstar hasn't announced anything regarding a PC outing for either expansion, so take this one with a grain of salt.

GTA IV is played out. DLC took too long and by now it is nothing but a dead song. Bring on the next one already with real next gen graphics. Hell, just make it a PS3 exclusive.

Sort of agree with him. I still play gta often, but it has been long enough, there needs to be a new game at the very minimum announced as in development.

Still, you kind of have to wonder how much microsoft did really pay them for the exclusive dlc. If they paid them enough, it very well may never be available on any other console or on PC, and also it might have set a time limit on how soon the next game could come out. There is no way that the DLC took this long to develop.

You people and that money lol

no-one knows the details of that money so why do you all think it matters that much?

its not even that much compared to what R* would get from selling the "dlc" on the ps3

If anything M$ loaned it or see it as a smart investment for timed (look how many idiots are convinced it is 360 exclusive and picked the 360 over the ps3 because of it).
Its been obvious since it was announced it wouldn't be exclusive

nieve childrens.

Yes! Imagine Grand Theft Auto looking like MGS4.. how awesome would that be?! It was limited by the 360 disc space, and no one can argue that that is what holds back games, but man.. if it were an exclusive, ohh.

And it's not a "dead song", it's a fun game, even just to pick up and run around killing people.

With so many great games out now I find it hard to pick GTA IV up again. As soon as I hear the opening sequence of the game I lose all interest in the game.

so many games would thousand times better if they were exclusive. Tekken 6 would have better, GTA4 would have been better, and FFXIII would possibly be ready in January.

But you know, Quantity over Quality, selling more copies is more important than a good game.
That is all a consequence of the 360. If there would be only the PS3 and Wii, all would be happy. Hardcore and graphics games on PS3, and family and party games on Wii. But NO, there comes the 360.

Development time for each console is cut by half, because games need to be developed for two consoles, but the release date stay the same.

Additionally, studios need twice the amount of money to produce games. You could say that this is balanced out by higher sales, because it comes to two consoles, but you know, if therre wouldn't be the Xbox 360, people would be buying the PS3. So the userbase of the HD console would be the same.

There is only one system worthy of these "next gen" graphics your all clamouring for (wait wasn't that the point to the ps3 anyway?) and that is the always superior PC.
Roll on the PC GTA:IV DLC, Rockstar, how you love us so.

 » Popcorn, check!

I come to this site over all things to see the Wapanese cry about their precious PS3.

Microsoft purchased the two DLCs that were created for a large sum of money. Rockstar are ready to work for the highest bidder, and it seems that Sony doesn't care enough to get in on this action.

Its funny how people cant get over the Playstation roots. Why is it that the PS3 'has' to be the console of choice just because the PS1/PS2 did well in the past? They only did well because they were the only platforms to make games for in that time.

Anyway, it really doesn't affect a person like me, I am of the PC master race after all.

PS. GTA4 sucked compared to SA.
