Sega Rally Revo is slated to come out in slightly more than a month from now, and the developers are on the last stages of development. This next-gen racer says it will literally break new ground in the genre and this video will tell you how. Check it out:

As you've heard, the geo-altering new engine will allow the unprecedented effect of tires etching the tracks into new shapes and forms as cars drive over it. The amount of ground shaken depends on the kind of motion taking place above it. This means that you'll never drive on the exact same track twice and the feel will be significantly different each time.

European, Japanese and American cars will be up for the taking in this iteration of the Sega Rally series. Online play will also be available along with a slew of other options. Sega Rally Revo ships on October 9 for the Sony PlayStation 3, PSP, PC and Microsoft Xbox 360.

I think its fair enough that he wants to show off the "Geo Deformation" stuff but saying that "No other game has done this before" is confusing me. Doesn't Motorstorm have the same "ground changing" effects? And don't they also stay throughout the race so that "every lap is different"?

I remember racing with the big rigs and leaving deep tyre tracks on the track. And I always thought that those tyre marks affected the smaller vehicles, especially the dirt bikes.

That's exactly what i was thinking, i heard him say that no other game has anything like it and i immediately thoght wait a second moron doesn't motorstorm have that too?

We already have FlatOut, so I won't be needing this, okay?

Motorstorms ground deffermation was purely cosmetic, it didnt effect the way your car handles it was for looks alone.

Sega Rallys version will actually effect the way your car handles due to different levels of traction and other stuff.

The game is VERY impressive and plays like a dream.
