Atari announced today that Silverfall is now available at retail stores across North America at a suggested retail price of US$ 39.95. Developed by Monte Cristo Games, Silverfall is a dynamic 3D action RPG that thrusts players into a world torn between science and nature."Engaging, immersive and imaginative, Silverfall is a unique addition to the genre of role-playing games," said Stephen Baer, senior product manager, Atari, Inc. "Having been among the top five of GameSpot.com's 'Top 10 PC games' list for the last week, Silverfall is certainly a must-have for PC and RPG fans alike." In Silverfall, gamers must choose between science and nature in order to save the principal city of Silverfall from total destruction. With the help of two NPC comapanions, players must take on quests and defeat hordes of opponents during their journey through the world of Nelwe. Decisions made during each quest will be key as choices impact storyline, environment and accumulation of skills. |

With the great news that Monte Cristo Games' Silverfall has gone gold, we could just expect good things to come after that. After the spankin' new screens, not much has been said about the game. But to make up for lost time and opportunity, Jehanne Rousseau a project manager at Monte Cristo, filled us in about character creation in Silverfall. He mentions that they really wanted to immerse players into the game so they made sure that players could really craft the exact character they want and that they wouldn't be limited to the "confines of a single-character class". The Monte Cristo honcho said that there are four races available in the game: troll, elf, goblin, and human. He went on to say that the choice of race has a direct impact on your character's abilities and that the character's sex also influences gameplay - in terms of storyline. NPCs will react differently based on whether your character is male or female. Jehanne also talked about what makes character progression interesting. He divulged that for each level gained, your character will earn attributes and skill points that you can distribute wherever you want - not limitations whatsoever. You also have the choice of picking your companion's skills so that they balance each other or make each other look good. So in the end, you could end up being a "spellcasting archer or a necromantic priest". In the end, the game offers a free character building feature and he stressed that this is what makes the game different from all the others. He then said that: This makes Silverfall quite unique and also adds plenty of replayability to the game because, as you certainly won't be able to see all of the skills in a single game, you can experience a new character each time you play. |

We reported earlier that Atari's fantasy-style RPG for PC, Silverfall, has gone gold and is now prepped to hit store shelves pretty soon. The game has already been released in Europe but us here in the U.S. would have to wait just a bit longer before we can get our grubby hands on the game.
Featuring more than 150 creatures, monsters, and bosses and over 130 skills and spells which are all rendered using ragdoll physics and particle effects, RPG fanatics will soon be able to join in on the phantasmagorical action as the game is set to come crashing on U.S. shores on March 20. That's just a few winks from now fellas, so while you wait for that, have a quick-see at some of the creatures you'll be encountering in the game via these screens. Enjoy! |

After the demo was released a few weeks back, Silverfall has now finally reached gold status and is ready for shipping - right on time for it's March 20 release in North America. Better make the most out of your time by hacking at the demo for now. You have a little over a month to finally choose what race your character will be - human, elf, goblin, or troll - and what side you'd take - science or nature. RPG as it may be, there are action elements stirred into mix. The hack-and-slash factor of the game balances well with its role-playing aspects. Character customizability and skill set development reflect the dichotomy that the whole backstory of the game was built on: the never-ending debacle of technology and nature. Silverfall will be available with the suggested retail price of US$ 39.95 and is rated "T for Teen" by the ESRB. |

Koch has finally confirmed today that Monte Cristo Games's upcoming PC RPG Silverfall will be released on March 9 across Europe. In the game, players can choose to play as a human, elf, goblin, or troll as they follow either science or nature in their quest to find out the truth behind the attack on the city of Silverfall (and we've got title!). After you choose your race, you can then proceed to grind and level up your abilities in two separate skill trees, each providing 10 unique talents. Amass a fortune and deck your character out in the best available armour, and arm yourself with the most menacing weapons while you gain allies and fame on your quest for vengeance. Yeah, it's pretty much a standard RPG, but one of the cool things about this cel-shaded title is that the city of Silverfall's appearance changes depending on your alignment and progress throughout the adventure. If you want to try the game out yourself, you can check out the recently-released single player demo. |

Currently under development at Monte Cristo Games' labs is Silverfall, the fantasy-style RPG for PC, which boasts of advanced 3D graphics and vast free-roaming environments. So anyway, the latest buzz on Silverfall is that the English demo of the game will be released tomorrow and will be downloadable online. Gamespot has even put up a clock to count down the seconds, minutes, and hours to go before Atari releases the demo. But if you're still contemplating whether to get the demo or not, here are some more of the game features that could probably help you decide:

We try to give you a comprehensive look on the games that we have around as much as we can. Trying to fill in a title's profile can be tedious, but hey, it's all for you guys, anyway. So, for an RPG game like Silverfall, a mere overview on the storyline and features ain't enough.
That's why today, we'll be giving you an inside look at the monsters that will make your journey a tad harder in this game. Now, although European gamers already have a headstart since it's been released there since October of last year, this preview will work for American ones as it won't be here 'til March 6th. Anyway, check out the monsters profile. The Ice Monster. This is an "Ice Elemental". If you can intelligently believe in this legend's existence, then you are one of the rare few. Their origin remains to be an elusive mystery, although they are known to thrive in the bowels of the frozen hills, where the crystal coals lay. Wheeled goblins love technology. Obsessed with 'internal' innovations, they would go as far as mutilating themselves just so they could be in on what's the latest. Their thinking is that by "tweaking" with themselves, they are boosting their physical capacity while at the same time enjoying their craft. Terrible is how their helix grasp is described. Their wheels aren't what you'd call friendly, either. Ghouls can be likened to zombies. Dead living creatures they are. Like spirits that have yet to transcend to the Light, they roam the earth from the moment of their death. Their bodies, possessed by the energy of the negative universe and decomposing, undergo serious mutations. Don't discount their muscles that are torn and withering away. That is certainly no indication of their strength. Deformed gnomes, some people say they are. But Guekheness are actually more likened to evolved insects. Humanoid insects with chitin characteristics to be more precise. And they actually have intelligence. So, winged as they may be, it would be wise for you to not think of them as bug-brained.More monsters after the jump! |

We have more screenshots of Monte Cristo's PC game, Silverfall. The hack-and-slash action-adventure RPG tackles the nagging issue between the forces of nature and the powers of science, basically, you must choose between the two. Your decision will determine the fate of a city, one mistake could be equivalent to the city's destruction. Check out more screens after the jump! |

It's an ongoing debate as to which should lord over the land: nature or technology. But the way Silverfall deals with this question is so encompassing, you're bound to see both sides of the coin. Now, as this game goes heavy on decision-making, at least you're assured of a well-informed and conscious choice. The choices you make, however, will not only affect the way you develop your skills, but rather, on a larger scale, it affects even the way the city develops. So make it good, and make it wise. Literally, the fate of the city falls upon your shoulders. Check out more screens after the jump! |

So it's been a little under a month now since Monte Cristo's Silverfall hit the shelves. And still, it just keeps buzzing. We have here four new screenshots of the action happening in Nalwe. Yeah, it sure can be tough having to make decisions all the time. More so when your decision will seal the fate of your world. But that's how this game is played. And sweet victory is sure to make all that trouble worth it. Of course, it doesn't hurt either that the graphics are just candy to the eyes, with some really dazzling light, shadow and particle effects. Plus, the real-time streaming of universe takes loading between regions to the utmost minimum, so that shouldn't be too much of a bother for you. Anyways, there's more coming your way from this game, so just be sure to keep it posted here for more updates. Until then, have a fill of these pics. |
