Maxis and Electronic Arts is about to unleash another expansion of The Sims 2, and guess what the virtual humans are up to now? They've been in college, enjoyed the nightlife, opened up businesses, and cared for pets, among other things. This time, they're going to explore some hobbies in The Sims 2: FreeTime.

With The Sims 2: FreeTime, your Sims can pursue their passions and hobbies like dancing, making model trains, restoring old cars, hiking, playing sports, and so much more. Of course, some hobbies can open up career options for your Sims, especially if you choose to go into crafting (pottery, sewing, and others). Here are more details about The Sims 2: FreeTime:

  • There are a number of activity types added: sports, science, arts and crafts. Your Sims can go into several hobbies: basketball, soccer, restoring cars, ballet, or be an amateur UFO finder.
  • Hobbies have an upside since they offer Sims lifetime rewards that'll come in handy since mastery of certain activities will lead to unlocking aspirations, earn rewards, and unlock lots.
  • Your Sims can also earn some cash with their arts and crafts or enter competitions in food, dance, and video games.
  • Group activities will help your Sim build up relationships and friendships. There's something for everybody (adults, kids, and toddlers) as far as group activities are concerned.
  • Another thing that can be quite amusing would be your Sims' initial slip-ups whilst taking up a new hobby or activity. Who would want to miss their Sims' first one-eyed teddy bear? Or the first time their Sims get poison ivy from hiking?
Well, that's it for now. Check out The Sims 2: FreeTime trailer below.

 » STOP EA!

The Sims 2 has enough crappy expansions, and this sounds even worse. Make something interesting for once, not something a one man crew made in their spare time.
