For the folks at Ubisoft, HAWX are more than just birds of prey - they're fighter-interceptors. We know this because Ubisoft recently revealed a debut trailer of Tom Clancy's HAWX for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and boy, does it look intense.

The acronym in Ubisoft's new title apparently stands for High Altitude Warfare X. You'll be seeing a lot of dogfighting, as the game reportedly allows you to pilot more than 50 planes at your disposal. Ubisoft has set the game in the year 2012, where private military companies (PMCs) are prevalent.

Tom Clancy's HAWX
sports an Enhanced Reality System (ERS). This basically includes such nifty options as radars, incoming missile detection, an anti-crash system, a damage control system, a tactical map, an information relay, and weapons trajectory control.

The ERS also allows players to give commands to their AI squadron. An Assistance Mode puts pilots into a maximum safety mode. Players may opt to switch the Assistance Mode off if they prefer more freedom and control, but this will also put them at greater risk without it.

Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's HAWX purportedly supports four-player jump-in co-op play and a versus mode where up to 16 players can battle online for experience points and in-game cash. Winners may then use their winnings to unlock new weapons.

But enough of that. It's better if you see it for yourself instead of merely reading about it, so feast your eyes on the Eurofighter Typhoon in action below:
