With the arrival of Sword of the New World: Granado Espada, K2 has revealed their lineup of events for the Leipzig Games Convention which will be held on the 22nd. If you plan to join the pilgrimage to the Convention, you'll be able to find K2's booth at Exhibit Hall 4, stand B46.

K2 will be displaying a number of their current games in their booth including, of course, Sword of the New World. Aside from that there will be contests and a photo shoot with your favorite K2 character. They'll be using blue screen though, so wear something... not blue.

There will also be a photo shoot with, as K2 describes, a "a sexy female character from Sword of the New World: Granado Espada." Of course there's also the complementary goodies where visitors will walk away with t-shirts, necklaces, mouse pads, and other nice freebies.

A live War Rock tournament will also be held at the KIPA booth on August 23 in the World Cyber Games Booth in Hall 2. Winners will get prizes.

Remember how we told you guys earlier about the upcoming FPS PC game currently brewing at K2 Network's labs? You know, War Rock?

Well as you know, the beta for the game is now nearing its end, and with this comes a surge of even more "fixing" duties for the devs. And because a lot of users have been asking about development updates and the plans after the beta, K2 Network issued the following statements to clarify the issues that the users brought forward.

Bad news: The company said that they encountered quite a lot of glitches with the pre-order beta codes in both NA and Europe.

Good news: If you've ordered the retail box, no need to fret. According to K2, you'll get a 30-day gold membership for the game's release on February 7th. And not only that, you'll also get free goodies like the following:

• a map flipbook
• military-style dog tags
• extra dinar and extra gear
• an exclusive weapon (varies by retailer)

And, even if the retailer (where you got the boxed game from) isn’t participating in the pre-order beta code, you'll still be getting some treats that you won’t be able to get with just the gold membership that you can avail of online. K2 says, "All of you who have purchased the retail box will be in the game for the first 30 days with an exclusive weapon not available to players who purchase a gold premium membership online." Well, there ya have it folks. We'll keep you posted for more developments.

On February 6, 2007, UK will be invaded by War Rock, an intense FPS from K2 Network, Inc. This online, military, tactical FPS features state of the art weapons, team or solo based play, as well as an unbelievable collection of maps and missions. With five different characters to master, you can never get tired playing either solo or in a team.

Says Matt Norton, producer, "After months of open beta testing that have seen thousands of players battle it out across the globe, we are pleased to announce a date for the official full release of War Rock." He adds, "With an easy learning curve, deep gameplay and low system specks, War Rock is a fantastic example of the K2 Network's ability to publish groundbreaking Free2Play online games."

The premium retail edition of the game will be including a manual, full-colour map book and a limited edition War Rock dog tags. Now, the deal is this. For the first month of play, gamers will have the Gold Premium membership. Included here are an unlockable fifth weapon slot, a unique weapon, integrated voice chat, access to new maps and game play modes, weaponry, armour and w hole slew of new in-game items.
