This year, fans of point-and-click adventure games will be treated to a revamped version of LucasArts' The Secret of Monkey Island which which will be released as a digital download on Xbox 360 and PC. Craig Derrick, the producer of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, intimated to the Guardian that PS3 and Wii owners may get the game as well.

There will be an ultimate assassin. This much you can expect from Ubisoft as a rep in E3 affirms that Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) is but the second in an intended trilogy.

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) is going black. EB Games Australia is reportedly offering at their online store the Assassin'sc Creed 2 Exclusive Black Collector's Edition, and is pegging it for a November 2009 ship-out.

The game was delayed due to the rescheduling of the movie, but now that mid-2009 is here, we can expect the game to finally roll in. Good news, adventure fans. It turns out that Syberia 3 wasn't an April Fools prank after all! The PC release is a sure thing according to Microids prez Emmanuel Olivier, but there's still some questions about a possible PS3 version. Why? Because of Sony. In a press release, Olivier accused Sony of censorship and exorbitant royalty fees, both of which are keeping a PS3 release of Syberia 3 from becoming reality.

After the recent series of shakedowns happening in Midway, word has been going around that the company may have to shut down its UK based studio Newcastle, subsequently putting development of its upcoming action shooter - The Wheelman (PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) - on hold. However, interim CEO Matt Booty squashed these unfounded rumors and confirmed that they had no plans of doing so. More details in our full article.

If some high-profile games like GTA4 have exclusive DLC on XBL, it shouldn't come as a surprise these days that other multiplatform games might go the same route: exclusive content for one console or other. Today we get word that the PS3 version of Mirror's Edge will be getting exclusive downloadable content via PSN. While this may be the case, it doesn't automatically rule out that other forms of exclusive content could also eventually arrive for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the FPS game.
