GameStop stirred up some controversy earlier this month when they broke the street date on Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC). The retailer owned up to the action, saying that it was done to protect their consumer base. It appears the consumer base needed a lot of protecting, now that they've broken the date on two more major releases: Assassin's Creed II (PS3, Xbox 360, and PC), and Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360, PC).

If you're feeling strapped for cash this past couple of weeks, particularly because of your latest purchases, Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2, too bad, cos there's another hot "2" title that you shouldn't miss. Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, and PC) has been given the M rating by the ESRB. Their justification for it: "sexual overtones" and "seduction mini-games" are included in the program.

For this upcoming TV spot for Assassin's Creed II, you'll find yourself staring into the eyes of Ezio's victims. It's a little creepy and morbid seeing as they're supposed to be dead with their eyes open and staring back at you, but it does compensate with Ezio showing us more of his in-game moves and new, improved ways to kill.

Fans of Assassin's Creed are gonna get a double whammy this month. Not only will November see the launch of Assassin's Creed II for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, but there will also be a novel incoming to give you your fill of Ezio and the men under the white hoods.

Having sold 2.5 million copies on its first month and hitting eight in 2009, Alta-yeer and Assassin's Creed definitely set the bar high for the trilogy. But as early as now, Ezio and Assassin's Creed II are expected to do much better, with pre-orders up 10-20% from their predecessor.
