Ubisoft's on a definite roll this time around, with the company enjoying good sales numbers in the first quarter thanks to a boost afforded by the release of games such as Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC), and others. Ubisoft has recently released patch v1.02 for the PC port of Assassin's Creed. This patch will be implementing several graphics fixes, and will also resolve a reported problem that was encountered when players ride the horse. Details are available in the full article.

In the latest issue of the UK Official PlayStation Magazine (the same one that gave Metal Gear Solid 4 a solid 10 rating), they dished out some rumors that, if true, hint at good times ahead. They have rumors of an Assassin's Creed movie in the works, a Cloverfield game, and even the setting for the Uncharted sequel. Check them all out and more in the full article.

A lot of us were fairly surprised to hear that Ubisoft was removing DX 10.1 support for Assassin's Creed's PC version on its next patch. This follows numerous complaints that bad results came out of using Nvidia graphics cards along with Microsoft's software tools to run the game. Ubisoft has more reasons to celebrate once again as Assassin's Creed was hailed as the chart topper for the PC software sales list from the NPD Group. Ubisoft has revealed that the next patch for the PC version of Assassin's Creed (also available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) will remove Direct X 10.1 support.  Why remove the feature? After the slew of mostly PC games last week, this time around we're going to have the same boatload of PC releases with a smattering of Nintendo Wii and DS games, and the occasional XBLA shoot-em-up in between. The gaming line-up is diverse, however. This week we're going to have the old-school vertical shooter Ikaruga, the dungeon crawler Baroque, and the retail stand-alone release of The Orange Box titles.
