Ascaron Entertainment and Legendo Entertainment have announced the release of a 150 MB demo containing four playable missions (two American and two Japanese) for their WWII aerial combat title, Attack on Pearl Harbor. The demo is now available at the game's official website under the Demo section. For the first two American missions, players are tasked with flying a P-40 to defend against the overwhelming Japanese forces. Afterwards, they have to cripple portions of the Japanese Navy afloat near Wake Island. On the other hand, the Japanese missions have you launching bombing runs using the D3A1 dive bomber (the first mission) and going on dog-fights in the infamously agile A6M1 "Zero" Fighter (the second mission). To download the demo for Attack on Pearl Harbor feel free to head to the official site via our "read" link below. The complete game is set to be released some time in July 2007. |

You can never run out of World War II games, definitely not those intense dogfighting ones. Even if you do run out, or at least get close to, you can always check out CDV's Attack on Pearl Harbor. The game is set for release in North America in early July 2007, exclusive to the PC. CDV claims that the focus of the game is on accessible, highly entertaining gameplay. Features include:

If you're going to be a hotshot pilot, you better get yourself familiarized with what plane you're going to fly, and to help players do just that, Legendo Entertainment has released some info on four of the planes that players can use in the upcoming WWII flight sim, Attack on Pearl Harbor. From left to right, the planes below are:
A6M1 Zero Japanese Fighter Excellent maneuverability and long range made the A6M1 Zero one of the finest fighters of its era. It could turn more sharply than any Allied fighter of the time. To keep its T-7178 aluminum body lightweight, it had a lot less armor and none of the "niceties" found in Allied aircraft. SBD Dauntless US Dive Bomber This plane was the U.S. Navy's main dive bomber, although the SBD Dauntless aircraft from USS Enterprise were caught in the Pearl Harbor attack. In the battle of Midway SBD Dauntless aircraft sank four of the Japanese aircraft carriers: the Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, and Hiryu. F4U Corsair US Fighter While the Zero could out-turn the F4U, the Corsair was faster and could out-climb and out-dive the enemy fighters. The Japanese named the F4U "whistling death" because of the high-pitched sound it made, caused by airflow through the wing-root oil coolers. D3A1 Aichi Japanese Bomber This WWII dive bomber was the primary carrier-borne dive bomber in the Imperial Japanese Navy in the early stages of the war, and participated in almost all actions including Pearl Harbor. These aircraft also had enough maneuverability to act as fighters when the need arose. Legendo and CDV's Attack on Pearl Harbor is an aerial combat title that will allow players to choose a side and relive the action of WWII's Pacific theater of war as either US gunner turned pilot Douglas Knox or Japanese ace Zenji Yamada. It's up to the player which side wins the war, as either nation can be the winner depending on the player's actions. |

How would you like to go back in time and play as WWII pilot? And you can play either side of the fence: Allied or Axis. Attack on Pearl Harbor, from Legendo Entertainment and CDV Software Entertainment, will bring players into the cockpits of WWII fighter planes and into the skies.
Attack on Pearl Harbor promises players - both casual and hardcore gamers - fast-paced arcade action aerial dogfights. Fighter planes ranged from the Japanese Zero to the American P-38 Lightning. The title also features four solo campaigns, a "quick play" dogfight mode, and multiplayer dogfights. This second trailer features the different combat styles. Players can bomb enemy warehouses, or send ships sinking with torpedoes. Anyway, we'll leave you to watch the trailer. Attack on Pearl Harbor is set to hit the shelves in June 2007, so ready your flight suit and goggles. Oh and be sure to aim your crash right. |

Swedish gaming company Legendo Entertainment has just released some new screenshots as well as the latest fact sheet for their latest PC game, Attack on Pearl Harbor, which is bound to be released by the second quarter of this year. Attack on Pearl Harbor is set in the years 1941-1945, during the height of World War II. Among the scenarios that players will be able to relive through this game are the Battle of Midway, Iwo Jima, Burma, and Manila. The other features that this game boasts of are its intuitive controls, as well as its easy-to-use interface which allows players to get into the action immediately. The game also supports up to 12 players, where one can choose to either fight solo or team up with others to form a squadron. If you're playing solo, the campaign mode of the game will allow you to decide whether you'll be playing as either the American Douglas Knox of the USAAF or as Zenji Yamada of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. Once in campaign mode, though, players will be treated to some unique cutscenes as the game advances. These scenes are depicted through graphic-novel-inspired animation panels which the devs think will "bring an exciting and refreshing feel to the game." |

There are also four solo campaigns to complete, all of which are set in various periods from 1941-1945. Historic battles that are re-enacted within the game include the Japanese attack on Hawaii, the Battle of Midway, Iwo Jima, Burma, and Manila, with each location offering a whole set of various missions. "America in an instant became the land of the indivisible," said former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw. "There are so many lessons from that time for our time, none greater than the idea of one nation greater than the sum of its parts." He was speaking at this year's ceremony marking the attack on Pearl Harbor 65 years ago.
While you can't turn back time you can relive that historic day via the PC game Attack on Pearl Harbor. The arcade-style air combat game for PC CD-ROM set in World War II's Pacific Theater. Players can sign up for either side as the daring US gunner turned pilot Douglas Knox or Japanese ace Zenji Yamada. Unlike the historical event, either nation can win the war in Attack on Pearl Harbor depending on player skills as they battle for supremacy behind the cockpits. The Japanese air fleet includes Mitsubishi A6M "Zero", the D3A1 Aichi "Val" and the B5N Nakajima "Kate" while the US counters with Chance Vought F4U Corsair, the Douglas SBD Dauntless and the Grumman TBM Avenger.
