Despite criticisms that Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS) isn't as good as its predecessor Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360, PC), Treyarch should still be happy with this outcome - the fifth installment to the Call of Duty franchise has sold over 11 million units since its launch back in November 2008.

Treyarch has released the second map pack for Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS) earlier, just in time for the Double XP Weekend that ends 10AM PST on Tuesday. As an additional incentive to go and get the US$ 9.99 download, the devs themselves will be gearing for battle and you can pit your skills against the masterminds that brought you the new map pack.

There's a sale happening from Steam, and it's for the PC version of Call of Duty: World at War. It's limited only for this weekend too, so you might as well head on down and get the game at 50% off its original price.

This doesn't really come as a surprise, but if any of you guys had doubts, time to put a stake through its heart. Call of Duty 7 (which is rumored to be set in Vietnam) is already under development, and yes, it's indeed coming from Treyarch.

Hollywood Reporter is reporting that there's gonna be a "Call of Duty: The Movie" headed to the cinemas soon, if Activision carries out its intention of having one. According to an inside source, talks have been underway for the big screen version. Do we say "Uh-oh..."?

We know the game's supposed to hit sometime this fall, but Activision have thus far been tight lipped about a specific release date for Call of Duty: World at War. Gentlemen, gather round, we've narrowed it down to November... maybe. Perhaps.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare ran pretty darn well on just about everything and World at War is built on the same engine, so these decidedly reasonable minimum requirements come as no surprise.

Of course if you want to to play the game at a cornea melting 2560 x 1600, you might have to get one of these bad boys.
