CryMod updates - Image 1Don't get us wrong: these are two totally related things, though Crytek isn't behind both of them. Somewhere among the awesome texture mods proposed is news that a modder will be improving the particle effects in Crysis via modifications. And in addition to that, we also heard that Crytek might be looking for great modders to use in upcoming Crysis Warhead.

E3 2008: Crysis Warhead gameplay in closeup - Image 1Though E3 hasn't seen the participation of PC gaming advocates Intel and Microsoft's Games for Windows initiative, game developer companies weren't held back from announcing their PC projects in the Los Angeles Convention Center. Electronic Arts served up another one of Crysis Warhead's gameplay trailers, only this time they've kept it focused on the action and with its original audio. Video feature embedded at the full story.

Crysis Warhead to be all yours for 30 bucks - Image 1This is what our radars have pinged upon gazing at Amazon and GameStops game lists. According to these online game retail hot spots, Crytek's addition to Crysis' plot progression (though it's like filling in the gaps, really) can be had at no more than three copies of Spore Creature Creator. Or one Bling Gnome pack of Dungeon Runners and a Spore Creature Creator retail edish. In short, shell 30 bucks, and Crysis Warhead is yours. Just a few more bits follow at the full story.

Warhead - Image 1The CEO and President of Crytek, Cevat Yerli, revealed that Crysis: Warhead will be quite playable on a € 400 (around US$ 621) PC, even on high settings. Now, by playable, we mean 30 frames per second...not exactly the best frame rate for power PC games, but far better than we were expecting. Electronic Arts, Crytek confirm Crysis Warhead for PC - Image 1EA and Crytek have partnered up again to introduce the recently speculated Crysis Warhead, which was often thought to be Crytek's Crysis project for consoles. It appears, however, that the majority of the rumors were wrong, and the minority was right. Crysis Warhead is the second installment to the Crysis 'verse, but it doesn't go far from the predecessor. As very few have mused before, Warhead is a retelling of the Crysis incident through the eyes of Sergeant "Psycho" Sykes (a.k.a. Jason Statham for jokers out there). More details in the full story.
