Five classes, Blizzard had said - five classes that the player will initially select from on his first run through of Diablo III. Two of those classes were revealed at the World Wide Invitational at Paris, France this year, and only one of them has returned from a 20-year furlough from the Lord of Terror's last campaign in Sanctuary. The other was a Witch Doctor, who's origins and lore do not disguise the fact that it has replaced the loved Necromancer. Lead designer Jay Wilson explains its absence in Diablo 3. |

Uh oh. As MTV Multiplayer puts it, the tables have turned on the disgruntled fans. Diablo III's lead designer, Jay Wilson, finally stepped up to the plate to take on the fans' edited screenshots. And we can tell you right now that the full story isn't going to be music to your ears, if the edited art-style was your bread and butter. But what we can say is that Blizzard has their reasons. Learn more about how Diablo 3 matured to "rainbows." |

Whoa, stop the presses! Diii.net's got a scoop that's not going to bold well for some regions outside of Battle.net's USEast, USWest, and Europe gateways: Blizzard's new plans for Battle.net is going to incur some costs on the pockets of gamers everywhere, just so that the security measures of the so-called "Battle.net 2.0" are up to level. Oh, and some really unnerving news to hardcore Diablo fans. Yeah - WoW influences again. |

When the rumors started unfolding for Diablo III, speculations ran rampant that the action RPG was to become a massively multiplayer project by Blizzard. The division was especially successful with World of Warcraft, so it would have been likely that they would bet their other franchise on the money-making market. But Blizzard knows what technically makes an MMO, and the Diablo 3 they're cooking just won't qualify. Get community manager Bashiok's take at the full story. |

Looks like the Diablo 3 team is still on the burner for dramatically changing the atmosphere of Diablo for Diablo III. As the situation continues to brew in the Battle.net Forums, community manager Bashiok continues to address players' concerns over the health globe mechanics, the nerfing of potions, and the most recent inquiry into loot mechanics. Let's face it: while Activision Blizzard did break the ice and let loose the fires of Diablo III, they've incorporated many changes to the action RPG that may be a drastic turnaround for many an avid Diablo fan. First up is the incorporation of health globes, which according to the developers should eliminate the need for potions and micromanaging bottles. Second was the art style, which many decided was to vibrant and colorful. Today, Blizzard's developers address the changes to health recovery. |

Officially there's praise for Blizzard's take of the third sequel to
the long-favored Diablo series, though most of the team members behind Diablo II and it's expansion Lord of Destruction
requested that their comments won't go on record. Two team members have
stood out, however, and offered what they feel Blizzard has managed to
do for Diablo III. |

Well, that pretty much rules out any possibility that Diablo 3 will be an MMO. Okay, so maybe there wasn't need for doubt. Since Diablo 3's announcement is out, we probably have just one more rumor to confirm: the Team 3 project. Blizzard never hinted on the upcoming RPG's relations to the mysterious 50-man team still laboring away inside the company walls. Maybe Team 3 is responsible for developing Diablo 3 for the past four years, or maybe - just maybe - they're actually part of this secretive next-gen MMO project. Learn more of your favorite Blizzard game at the full story. |

After Blizzard's long-awaited Diablo 3 was announced last week in Paris, a large number of fans were disappointed because of significant changes in the art style of this installment in the series. Some labeled it unrealistic, cartoon-ish, and too colorful among other things. Finally, the game's producer issued Blizzard's official stand on the matter. See the full article up next. |
