Diablo 2's Necromancer - Image 1Five classes, Blizzard had said - five classes that the player will initially select from on his first run through of Diablo III. Two of those classes were revealed at the World Wide Invitational at Paris, France this year, and only one of them has returned from a 20-year furlough from the Lord of Terror's last campaign in Sanctuary. The other was a Witch Doctor, who's origins and lore do not disguise the fact that it has replaced the loved Necromancer. Lead designer Jay Wilson explains its absence in Diablo 3.

Blizzard: Diablo 3 worlds lacking persistence, not MMO - Image 1When the rumors started unfolding for Diablo III, speculations ran rampant that the action RPG was to become a massively multiplayer project by Blizzard. The division was especially successful with World of Warcraft, so it would have been likely that they would bet their other franchise on the money-making market. Diablo - Image 1 Let's face it: while Activision Blizzard did break the ice and let loose the fires of Diablo III, they've incorporated many changes to the action RPG that may be a drastic turnaround for many an avid Diablo fan. First up is the incorporation of health globes, which according to the developers should eliminate the need for potions and micromanaging bottles. Second was the art style, which many decided was to vibrant and colorful. Today, Blizzard's developers address the changes to health recovery.

Since Diablo 3's announcement is out, we probably have just one more rumor to confirm: the Team 3 project. Blizzard never hinted on the upcoming RPG's relations to the mysterious 50-man team still laboring away inside the company walls.
