Didja hear? We're not the only ones getting episodic content from BioWare anymore.

BioWare has already revealed plans of releasing episodic content for the upcoming Xbox 360 game Mass Effect, but as it turns out, Mass Effect isn't the only one slated for episodic releases.

In an interview with CVG, BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka said that they have "big plans afoot at BioWare for post-release and episodic content for upcoming cool BioWare games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Jade Empire: Special Edition and other upcoming BioWare titles, both on console and PC."

Regarding online initiatives, Muzyka expressed excitement about the amount of innovations "in the PC space in online games." With Blizzard's World of Warcraft and other MMOs continuing to expand the MMO business, Muzyka also said that BioWare is getting ready to jump into "that world" themselves through BioWare Austin's upcoming MMORPG title, along with digital distribution and episodic content.

Front coverFrom the creators of Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate comes a new RPG that's starting to cause people's ears to perk up. Now that BioWare's Dragon Age has landed on the cover of the maiden issue of "Games for Windows: The Official Magazine", people aren't just keeping their ears perked; they're sounding the alarms as well.

Here are some things you'd like to hear about the game:
  • The character archetype you choose will determine the unique course of the first few hours
  • The story takes influences from realistic modern fantasies those of George R. R. Martin's novels
  • It's going to use the tactical real-time combat system of Baldur's Gate, only 3D-style
  • There's going to be massive enemies (gee, I wonder what... dragons, maybe?)
  • The classes and rules took root from classic Dungeons & Dragons games
  • The game will use a modified Mass Effect conversation system
Set for a release date of late next year, we still have a long wait ahead of us. In the mean time, we'll keep you guys covered when more news and info about this potential blockbuster gets revealed.

How about a screenshot to whet your appetites?
