It's been more than a decade since Duke Nukem Forever was revealed, but years have passed, and we've heard little about 3DRealms' highly anticipated project. Rumors that played from technological problems to loss of interest soon plagued the game, and it became apparent that ol' Duke was soon to be disintegrated by time. The developer has lately maintained that the project was back on track, but where's the proof? We tell you right now, the proof is right here. A warning though: the embedded video auto-plays on load. |

We've just managed to pick up a couple of more screenshots for 3D Realm's upcoming Duke Nukem Forever title. While they won't really give us much details to go on for the moment, they should at least tide us over until beefier info comes our way. The pics are available in the full article. |

Funny how the past catches up pretty quick with a game popularly pegged "forever-in-development." News from the press waves has just filled us in to a deal that happened between Take-Two Interactive and GT Interactive which evidently granted the rights of publishing Duke Nukem Forever to the holders of the 2K Games brand. More at the full story. |

According to the Dallas Business Journal, 3D Realms has confirmed that Duke Nukem Forever will be released this year and that it will be available not only on the PC but also on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, 3D Realms denied this, saying that it never said anything definite in its correspondence with the news site. For more on this, head on over to the full article. |

Duke Nukem Forever was often thought to be a PC-only release, since it was to be the true successor of the then-PC catalyst for LAN partying, time-killing, and bad-mouthing - the revolutionary Duke Nukem 3D. But it seems 3DRealms has newer plans laid out for the next installment, and it's likely to spread some Christmas cheer to all. 3DRealms CEO Scott Miller spills some delight at the full story. |

A decade since the initial announcement of the development of Duke Nukem Forever, and 3D Realms now releases the game's latest video trailer. It's no small matter to say we've waited a very, very long time for this teaser, which shows us glimpses of how the Duke's been doing all these years. The video's available over in the full article. |

3DRealms' Duke Nukem Forever has been in development for what seems like... forever. Joking aside, we found this video floating around in the web which is allegedly part of a viral video campaign for the game.
In this bloggers' humble opinion, this video posted by RedShirtSpeaks on YouTube looks professionally done and the voice acting was spot on. If this were just a fan made video, then we applaud the skills of the one who made it. However, we can't discount the possibility that this was released by 3D Realms as a sort of herald that Duke will be arriving this year. We're sure you're probably itching to see the video now to make your own judgements. Here it is. I'd like to end with a quote from Duke Nukem 3d that you'll be hearing in the video: "Long live the King baby!" |

Some say it's an Octobrain waving its tentacles around, while others say it's some sort of gnarly space worm tearing someone apart while it coils around a building. A few even hazard that it's just Duke firing a shotgun at a tree - a very tall tree at that. Well, whatever it is, the entire gaming community (us writers at QJ included) can't make heads or tails of the latest screenshot of Duke Nukem Forever, as printed in the latest issue of Game Informer - the image in question can be seen above this article. Click to magnify. It's not really obvious what it is, is it? Of course, we can easily make out the buildings, the lightning, the coiled tentacle-like things sprouting from the building - yet the central part with what looks like blood spatter (or even alien-esque eyes) is almost impossible to make out. And even eagle-eyed screenshot examiners from the official 3DRealms forums can't pin down just what exactly is being shown, and this fact alone has elicited some mixed reactions about the image - as well as concerns about the title's release date. Well, how about you, readers? What do you think is in that screenshot? Let us know by your comments. |
