Hospital Tycoon - meet the staff - Image 1 Those out for some light and funny PC games, this might be the one for you. Codemasters has just unleashed an epidemic called Hospital Tycoon.

This might feel a bit like playing with the characters of "General Hospital". Wouldn't it be fun to manipulate Doctor A to like or hate Nurse B? In Sapphire Beach Medical Institute, you're the medical director and you're in change of staff, patients, and basically everything else. Certain members of your staff and patients as well have different relationships and you can explore their different plotlines as you go along managing the hospital.

You can upgrade your medical equipment so the hospital will be able to cure different diseases which will also bring fame to the hospital. Weird diseases are not an exception - there are even diseases called Exploding Sneezing (a sneeze would allow a patient to levitate due to force) and Monkey Nuts (you don't want to know).

Anyway, each person in Hospital Tycoon has a unique personality which can be... well, toyed with. We'll stop right there so we don't spoil the fun for you. Deep Red Games' and Codemasters' PC video game was released a couple of days back which retails at US$ 29.99 (SRP).

Hospital Tycoon - Image 1Codemasters, makers of the quirky and popular Tycoon franchise, is back for more Tycoon fun, this time by taking the business to the medical field in Hospital Tycoon for the PC platform.

Unlike the early Tycoon titles, Hospital Tycoon doesn't have you sitting atop all else like a god all the time. This one actually goes down to the micro-level to explore the social dynamics of the medical industry. Hilarity often ensues as doctors, nurses, and EMTs run into all sorts of mischief that will keep you glued and grinning for hours on end.

The graphics also seem to have been given more premium. The visuals look funny in a good way, and the overall presentation makes an otherwise daunting stay at the hospital seem light and fun.

The developers put up a trailer on YouTube which you can view if you click on the Read URL below. Have fun and we hope you stay in the hospital soon.

How would you like to manage your own hospital? You might not be a Greg House or a Meredith Grey but you'll be able to live out your dreams as a doctor - or should we say hospital administrator? - via Codemasters and Deep Red Games' Hospital Tycoon.

Well, you could probably tell from the title that this is going to be like any other game with the word "tycoon" in it. Anyway, this is best described as a hospital comedy drama. Hospital Tycoon will have players managing a hospital from a God-view and there's also an optional sandbox view. Treat the patients and upgrade the hospital equipment. Think Diner Dash but with sick virtual people.

Here's a bit of character art from Hospital Tycoon. This will be making the rounds on the shelves (and possibly your PCs too) on this spring.
