We have two more gameplay trailers, one featuring the Iron Palm style and the other one featuring a montage of different fighting styles. It looks like people won't have to fight their way to the stores to get themselves a copy of Jade Empire: Special Edition. Valve's very own Steam service has got your back with a downloadable version you can purchase and grab from their site.As far as we can tell, Steam is offering Jade Empire: SE for pre-purchase. Now, the kicker is we must have missed a memo or something, because instead of having it for a US$ 30 price tag, it went up to US$ 35. Darn. Still, it's not such a bad deal, since you usually pay around forty bucks for this sort of thing, right? In any case, we'll just have to wait and see what this does for the game. How about you? Would you prefer to buy a downloadable over the one with the box? |

BioWare has already revealed plans of releasing episodic content for the upcoming Xbox 360 game Mass Effect, but as it turns out, Mass Effect isn't the only one slated for episodic releases. In an interview with CVG, BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka said that they have "big plans afoot at BioWare for post-release and episodic content for upcoming cool BioWare games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Jade Empire: Special Edition and other upcoming BioWare titles, both on console and PC." Regarding online initiatives, Muzyka expressed excitement about the amount of innovations "in the PC space in online games." With Blizzard's World of Warcraft and other MMOs continuing to expand the MMO business, Muzyka also said that BioWare is getting ready to jump into "that world" themselves through BioWare Austin's upcoming MMORPG title, along with digital distribution and episodic content. |

Jade Empire: Special Edition is set in mythical ancient China. Here, magic belongs to the realm of what is real, along with the dangers that lurk, threatening the seat of power. The Emperor's fate hangs in the balance, and he'll be bringing with him the lands if he goes down. This is the quest awaiting you with Bioware's PC creation. And as it is set in the ancient Orients, you would be smart enough to expect some fancy ancient martial arts moves. But as said earlier, magic thrives here, too. And rather healthily, at that. So combine those two elements, and you're in for some superb magical action. Yes, it's revamped. And it shows, too, what with these excellent screenshots we have here. Oh, you haven't checked them out? Well, by golly. What are you waiting for? Just click on the thumbnails for a bigger and better view. And don't let that drool fall on your keyboards. There's more to see after the jump! |

The fun martial-arts RPG for the Xbox the regular Xbox is breaking out of the console. 2K Games is publishing Jade Empire: Special Edition for the PC, and from what we've heard, it looks to be an update with more features and updated graphics. As Jade Empire fans might remember, the game thrusts you into the character of a martial arts student training to become either a hero or a villain. In this case, players were tasked to follow either the Way of the Open Palm or the Way of the Closed Fist, both of which could be applied liberally in your quest to do good or evil. In addition to the kung-fu action and the opportunity to woo a member of the opposite gender (or same, if you guys didn't know), Jade Empire: Special Edition will feature enhanced AI, a new playable character (Monk Zhang from the Limited Edition Xbox version) and two new fighting styles: Iron Palm Style and Viper Style. We're pretty sure you can guess which one's made for speed or for power. While waiting for its 2007 release, don't hesitate to check out more screens we've gathered for this updated chop-socky smoochfest RPG at the full article. Enjoy!
