Codemasters has some goodies for all of you Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (PlayStation 3, Xboc 360, and PC) players as the first person tactical shooter's first DLC rolls out for its PC and Xbox 360 versions. A brand new trailer for Codemasters' Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) reveal a new release window, much to the relief of fans awaiting an update on it. The video itself shows a lot of bombings, choppers, tanks, and armed military men crawling on the ground for that one stealthy, jolly attack.

Codemasters has released screenshots of several of their upcoming games over at the Leipzig Games Convention, including Operation Flashpoint 2, Overlord: Dark Legend, Overlord: Minions, and Rise of the Argonauts. Check them out in the full article.

 

Codemasters has announced that Operation Flashpoint 2 will be heading to PCs and major consoles this 2008. This sequel is said to be "the most extensive R&D project to date" of Codemasters. The game has already gone through two years of pre-production on a closed set and will use a new FPS variant of Neon technology (Codemaster's proprietary middleware).

The game is essentially an FPS along the lines of GRAW2 and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. It will attempt to provide accurate modelling of conflict scenarios in modern warfare with the inclusion of different military disciplines. The game will also have the standard multiplayer options in which Codemasters has promised to create battles on "an incredible scale". Unfortunately, GRAW2 and other current military FPS have set the standards pretty high, we'll have to see if this game can deliver all that it promises.
