Overlord - Image 1The Overlord and his army of lethal minions are gearing up for another round of mayhem this November. A total of three new downloadable content packs for Codemasters and Triumph Studios' Overlord (PC, Xbox 360) will become available this month on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The downloadable content is led by Overlord: Raising Hell. This expansion pack adds all new single-player levels to the original Overlord game. Each of these new levels is a hell for each of the game's five kingdoms. Players will have to battle it out against fallen heroes to claim the throne of each kingdom's underworld.

Next up is the Overlord Challenge Pack. This premium download is for players looking for a challenge. It includes seven new online maps, including the competitive Protect Your Power map where players must defend the Overlord's tower against waves of enemy attack. The Challenge Pack also introduces a new Legendary difficulty mode.

Finally, there's the free Split-screen Multiplayer Pack. This free update will be available alongside the premium packs and will finally let players go head to head in an all-new split-screen multiplayer mode. It also includes a new multiplayer map, Rocky Race, which sees a pair of Overlords working cooperatively to survive the onslaught of a rampaging arch rock giant.

All three downloadable content packs will be available this November. Pricing has yet to be announced, so check back here for more updates. Downloadable content for Overlord's PC version is expected to become available in the New Year. A special edition PC box set of Overlord is also being readied for release in Germany. This box set will include all three of the updates above.

Overlord gets split-screen multiplayer - Image 1Heads up, Overlord fans! It's time to summon those minions once again and equip them with pumpkin hats, as Codemasters has given word of a new feature that'll be made freely available for the Xbox 360 version of the video game: split-screen multiplayer.

Multiplayer will thus get a new mode for those folks who want to play the game with their friends on the couch. According to IGN, Overlord's new mode will provide an option for split-screen play on all existing multiplayer maps. No word has been given on the release date of the downloadable feature, although Codemasters is saying that the new option will be coming "soon."

In the meantime, it seems, you and your minion friend will just have to share while playing others online.

We're sure you enjoyed the first four Overlord Minion Commandments, so now we're giving you commandments five and six.

Well, what more can you expect from your faithful, loyal, and not-so-bright minions other than complete submission to your petty whims? The commandments of the little monsters show just how much they love serving you. Take the fifth minion commandment: Thou shalt throw yourself into battle. All you need to do as the Overlord is point and unleash your horde of minions unto a monster blocking your path. The minions will quite literally, throw themselves onto your enemies.

Commandment six concerns the rebuilding of the Dark Tower and all the hustle and bustle that comes with interior decorating. Of course, the Overlord doesn't have to lift anything.

Codemasters' Overlord is already out on Xbox 360 and PC. So while you're taking a break from ordering your minions around, why don't you check out the videos?

The sixth Minion Commandment comes after the jump!

It's not very easy to be one of the evil Overlord's minions. Heck, it's not even easy to be a goblin. To make everything smooth, the bad guy from Codemasters' Overlord decided to make a list of six commandments for his underlings to follow.

Positive outlook in life is important if one is to survive getting pushed around and ordered to accomplish the most difficult tasks. Even the lowest of creatures deserve to be happy, wouldn't you agree? Thus, the fourth commandment says: "Thou Shalt Enjoy Your Work."

Okay so maybe it doesn't exactly tell someone how to ease the burden of a push over. But it still looks like they're having fun - drinking booze and all that - so all is well and dandy. Get your hands on these critters by grabbing a copy of Overlord for the PC and Xbox 360 available now.

Since the dawn of time, man has always dreamed of having a bunch of minions to his aid. Walking around villages, dropping the hammer on the not-so-loyal citizens, creating a harem of fresh maidens; can it get any better? Probably not, but it can be as evil as the limits of your imagination allow. If these clues don't suffice, we're talking about Codemasters' brand new game: Overlord.

Some of you Xbox 360 and PC owners should have it by now, but here's a trailer for the unconvinced. It's all about being evil. It's about pillaging and commanding strange goblins. As they say, "It's so nice to see new places, meet new people...and kill them."

Codemasters' Overlord ships to U.S. - Image 1

Codemasters has recently announced the unleashing...err...shipping of Overlord to the U.S. earlier today, after teasing evil apprentices with demos over Xbox Live Marketplace and the PC. Now the full version can be had after Overlord officially releases on the PC and Xbox 360.

The dark comedic creation by Dutch developers Triumph Studios has touched over 750,000 gamers across both platforms since the release of the demo, all vying for the chance to become an all-powerful Overlord. Leading 50 overly loyal minions of four selectable types, players can now run unhindered across the lands, pillaging villages, conquering kingdoms and leading your army to defeat corrupt heroes.

The action adventure game is rated T for Teens by the ESRB (that's 13 and above folks) and should be available for a suggested retail price of US$ 59.99 for the Xbox 360 and US$ 49.99 for the PC.

Buy: [Overlord (PC)]
