StarCraft II - Image 1Blizzard isn't budging, nor are they worrying over the incessant demand for them to bring back LAN to StarCraft II. Even Executive Vice President of game design Rob Pardo is not at all flustered by the gaining unpopularity of their decision to stick with Battle.net and leave LAN crying out in the corner. For him, it's "no big deal."

StarCraft II - Image 1Right before July, StarCraft fans launched an online petition asking Blizzard to bring LAN gameplay into StarCraft II after finding out that the publisher will not be incorporating the feature into the game in an attempt to prevent piracy. About a month later, the said online petition is now 100,000 signatures strong.

Some people may balk at the open-endedness of this schedule, but really, with the high quality of products they are known to make, no one is in the position to complain or to dare challenge them to go faster -- not even Activision. But when StarCraft II does release, you can rest assured it's gonna be thoroughly polished, enough to earn Activision Blizzard as much as US$ 40 million in its opening quarter. Just ask the analysts.
