THQ's Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance reaches gold master status - Image 1

THQ has just announced that Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance has gone gold, and it won't be long before Gas Powered Games' addition to the real-time strategy front will take to PCs around the globe. Tactical and strategic commanders alike will now have to face the incoming Seraphim onslaught and divert human kind's fate from extinction in Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.

Forming a shaky alliance among the three human factions, the Cybran Nation, Aeon Illuminate, and United Earth Federation will gain new units including state-of-the-art Tier 4 experimental units to toy with. The Seraphim are masters of powerful and highly-advanced quantum technology, and even the most "Napoleonic" of commanders will have to master all the new additions to thwart the alien invasion.

THQ's Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance will invade North American retail stores on November 6. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is a stand-alone expansion to Chris Taylor's Supreme Commander for Windows PCs over DVD and CD-ROM.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance - Image 1

FilePlanet Founder's Club members are in for another real treat. After firing the first shots in Electronic Arts' upcoming FPS Crysis, these lucky people will be the first to command the warring factions of Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.

Gas Powered Games and THQ in cooperation with FilePlanet have launched the Beta of this stand-alone expansion to Supreme Commander. That's right, you don't have to own the first game and install it in order to play Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.

New gameplay features are trumpeted by the developers. The biggest addition, of course, will be the new faction called the Seraphim. Balancing tweaks, new units and some additions to mechanics round up the rest of the features. Are you a FilePlanet Founder's Club member? We'll be glad to hear about your experience with the game.

The holidays are right around the corner, which could only mean one thing - big games hitting the shelves. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is one of those sequels that PC RTS fans are undoubtedly anticipating, and it's slated for a November release. To ease the pain of waiting, check out the first official movie Gas Powered Games dished out for the latest Supreme Commander.

It's kinda hard to imagine how bigger and more epic this larger-than-life strategy game can be, but the video game holds that much promise. A new faction will be introduced in Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance along with over 100 new units. Of course, expect all those to create explosive battles on massive battlefields.

If this brief trailer of giant mechs firing lasers and aircraft dropping highly destructive bombs is any implication, we'll see countless of units taking each other down in style just like in the original game. Find the video below:

PC on E3 - Image 1

And while the PC community awaits the details to be spilled on Blizzard's Starcraft 2, THQ and Gas Powered Games has revealed a bit more on the newest installment in the Supreme Commander series: Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. With a plot comparable to Warcraft III: Reigns of Chaos and Halo, Forged Alliance will place the player in a campaign against a certain evil bent upon the extermination of the human race.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance detailed at E3 - Image 1

The United Earth Federation (UEF), the Aeon Illuminate and the Cybran Nation, still wounded, battered and exhausted even after two years since the Infinite War, must to drop their differences and unite against a common enemy: a religious, technologically blessed force known as The Order.

And watch out, for if you thought the units in Supreme Commander were high-tech enough, the zealots of The Order is decked out with even more advanced weaponry and have mastered quantum technology, giving players a reason to rethink their strategies in the single player campaign mode.

The united forces of the human race will do battle with more than 110 new units coming with Forged Alliance, which also include emphasis on decked out naval armadas for the fledging admiral in you. The game will also take Supreme Commander's epic gameplay and hike it up further with orbital fire support and counter-intelligence technologies.

The game will also sport a new array of multiplayer maps, although no details on multiplayer modes have been revealed as yet. Forged Alliance is coming to the Windows PC on DVD (though mention of CD was explicit) by November 2007, but as of press time the details on whether it's Vista-only or XP-compatible hasn't been whispered.

Supreme Commander gets a sequel - Image 1

Just last February, Supreme Commander was released for gamers who had been eagerly waiting for the game. Well, Chris Taylor and his merry crew at Gas Powered Games sure work fast as THQ has just announced Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.

Those who loved the first one will surely love this new incarnation. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance boasts of a entirely new single player campaign, a new faction, and new multiplayer modes. This upcoming sequel is set after the events of the Infinite War, where three factions (Aeon Illuminate, Cybran Nation, and United Earth Federation) slugged it out for domination. In the new title, there will be a whole lot of improvements with the nations' navies, orbital weaponry, and counter intelligence technologies. Imagine what you can do with the 100 new units that will debut in Forged Alliance.

Chris Taylor, CEO of Gas Powered Games had this to say:

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is not only the continuation of the epic story that is unfolding inside the game's universe, it is the continuation of our goal to move the bar for RTS gaming even higher than ever. Forged Alliance offers over 100 new units, more maps and an entirely new faction... we are stuffing this game with all kinds of new features!

Well, Gas Powered Games did say that it will be continuing Supreme Commander, we just didn't know it was going to be this soon. Reportedly, the sequel is scheduled for release in November this year. Anyway, more news on this when they become available.
