Now Atari may not be doing so well financially, but if there's one thing we're thankful for, it's the fact that the brand picked up CD Projekt's The Witcher and permitted the rest of the world to trod through a darker face of role-play. And those who've actually had the patience to enjoy CD Projekt's offering past the first chapter would delight in the fact that the developers, along with Atari, decided to bring two goodies along with patch 1.3: an editor and a new adventure - all for free! |

When Polish gamesmiths CD Projekt RED developed The Witcher for the PC, they knew it would sell well. When they launched it, they realized that they might have underestimated themselves. The dark action title has racked up more than half of its first-year target in a span of three months, and the devs seem intent on pleasing fans even more. Full story after the jump! |

Atari and CD Projekt's action-RPG The Witcher has been available for quite a while now and just to let everyone know what's in the game if they don't have it yet, the makers have made a playable demo available for free download in their official site. It's a pretty hefty one and we've got details in the full article. |

If you're the type who prefers the digital method over the manual get-up-and-go approach, you'll be glad to know that The Witcher, the new RPG from CD Projekt, has joined the ranks of downloadable games over at the GamersGate website. The downloadable game is only available in the US. If for some reason you prefer to put on your shoes and go buy the game yourself (heaven knows why you'd prefer that method) then you should know that The Witcher is already available today. One reason to get up to go buy it with your physical self (oh heaven has provided a reason after all) may be The Witcher Limited Edition, which contains some goodies: a 204-page art book, the soundtrack CD, and the "making of the game" DVD. To download The Witcher, follow the Read link below. |

If last week's boatload of game releases knocked your socks off, this week's batch won't give you a chance to put them back on. We're approaching the big holiday rush as we enter November, and the quantity of game launches is continually picking up. This week's sizable On Shelves cast features a diverse class of wallet-busters. Heading them is the anticipated debut of NC Soft's MMORPG Richard Garriot's Tabula Rasa.Other heavy hitters such as Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, NIS America's Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness and Sierra Entertainment's TimeShift are also in the house. There's plenty more in store, so dig right in and try not to go crazy deciding which ones to buy first! Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The long-awaited showdown between you and the brightest icons of rock history has finally arrived, and you better bring your A-game because Slash, Bret Michaels, John Frusciante are all looking to shred you to bits. Re-live classic tracks with your meanest riffs and bring the house down on the biggest venues.

CD Projekt has just announced that they've released patch 1.1 for The Witcher. This update fixes some of the bugs and gameplay problems that players have been complaining about in the official forums. The patch makes the game more stable and solves the random system crashes some users have been experiencing while playing the game. In addition to this, the WSAD-mousedrive control issues and all Alt-Tab problems have been fixed as well. North American based gamers who plan on picking up The Witcher when it comes out in their area on October 30 should probably download this patch since it fixes some of the more glaring problems of the game. The full patch notes can be found in the full article. |
