GPG releases Supreme Commander v1.3254 patch - Image 1

Big whoop, whoop for "teh development gods" at Gas Powered Games. They've finally announced the release of the latest of patches, version 1.3254 or just v3254, for all versions of THQ-published Supreme Commander. And although there were many big fixes listed for this major hotfix, the biggest news of all is that the five second death ish is finally gone.

And we mean slain dead. Budding Napoleons who take hours on end to strategize the perfect assault might want to rethink their strategies a bit. There's a lot of other fixes that could change the tide of battle against them or buy them a little more time to stop an all-out assault dead-cold.

We'd enumerate them here, but then strategies of some players may get revealed, so instead we'll list the entire patch note's change list and leave you to make the necessary testing and adjustments as needed.

Can't get enough of being Supreme Commander? We know the game's been out for several of days, and the first patch came out just yesterday. Anyway, here's a treat for those who don't have the title yet.

Supreme Commander from THQ features three factions with each specializing in distinct types of units. The trailer showcases the experimental units. The Cybran Nation has the Monkey Lord (scary looking mech with spider legs and giant laser mounted on top), Scantis (artillery tank that "blooms"), and Soul Ripper. The UEF has the Fatboy (which looks eerily like a Siege Tank), Atlantis (sort of a aircraft carrier), and Mavor (like an oversized artillery weapon). While the Aeon Illuminate sports the Galactic Colossus (think the Colossus of Rhodes with missiles), Tempest, and Czar (think Independence Day).

We're also throwing in a gameplay montage that features... well, all out war. We'll leave you to watch the videos before this writer zones out into total RTS geekiness. Enjoy!

Check out the other video right after the jump!

Bioshock - Image 1

Your plane crashes. Instead of a beautiful tropical deserted island, you end up in frigid waters and discover the City of Rapture. You're greeted by its genetically mutated denizens and take our word for it, you wouldn't like them as a welcoming committee. You wouldn't want severely disfigured and pipe-wielding baddies to take a swing at you, would you?

But then again, we'll have loads of fun blowing them to kingdom come, right? Bioshock mixes FPS and RPG elements and the story revolves around the premise of an idealistic place that isn't so idealistic anymore. A Utopia-like Atlantis gone all wrong. Bioshock by 2K Games and Irrational Games will be on the shelves this June.

Are you ready to take the plunge into the sci-fi world of Bioshock? Here's a few screens to tide us over until then.

PSPWhen we think the Got Game Entertainment group, the first inclination we may have is their roster of PC productions like Bad Mojo: Redux, or their upcoming titlePenumbra for the PC.

Sure, we like PC Gaming, and Got Game has been expanding further from the initial adventure genre but for the fans out there, there may be hints of a PSP title hitting the horizon soon.

Gamasutra chewed the yarn with Got Game's Howard Horowitz, and aside from topics like Got Game's initial focus of adventure games, and their ongoing genre expansions, they also discussed Horowitz's views on the possible future releases.

With regards to the sort of sales that the company was gunning for, Howard was very confident in Got Game's capability to go mainstream - a point he makes as two of their titles - Barrow Hill: Curse of the Ancient Circle and Atlantis Quest - made it in the same page as World of Warcraft and and Scarface on Target's Christmas catalog.

And moving on to what gamers can expect for the upcoming months, here was Horowitz's heads-up:

Got Game Entertainment has a mixed genre of games for the first half of 2007. The official announcement will be coming soon with all the details, but I can announce we are releasing Scratches: Director's Cut for PC in March, Penumbra: Overture in April, and we just signed a publishing deal for Sony's PSP platform for a mainstream game which will be announced shortly.

While there is no further on their planned project for the PSP, we look forward to seeing just what Got Game may have in store for Sony's portable. For the full details of their past works - you might recognize them - click on the read link.
