Warhammer: Mark of Chaos - Image 1A listing on German ratings board Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK) has revealed that Namco Bandai's Warhammer: Mark of Chaos will be heading to the Microsoft Xbox 360 video game console.

Warhammer: Mark of Chaos is a real-time tactics title developed by Black Hole Entertainment and released late last year for Windows PCs. Gameplay is focused primarily on battle tactics, and the standard base-building, resource harvesting and unit production aspect of RTS titles is not present.

The title will supposedly be published by Koch Media GmbH. Further details have yet to be revealed, but Warhammer: Mark of Chaos' release date has been rumored to be set for October of this year. An official confirmation of the game has also yet to be announced.

War!

The latest patch of Black Hole Entertainment's Warhammer: Mark of Chaos is out, and aside from a few fixes on a few added features regarding flanking, the bulk of it includes a lot of game balance changes.

Among the added features include flanking and charge feedback. Also they've now made sure that you've got a list in the Multiplayer Lobby on which players are in a game. They've also fixed several crash, out of sync and other bugs during replays. I could really just list the changelog for you guys, but I won't. I'll just give you a link a post that did that already.

It's nice to point out though that "Fists of Gork" still doesn't sound right. In fact, a lot of the names for the orc skills sound wrong. To download the patch, use the URL on our read-link below.

Dawn of War from Ctrl+Alt+DelPorts are everywhere. PSone to PSP ports, PS2 to Wii ports, PC to 360 ports... However, only rare does it happen that a game gets a tabletop to PC port. Strictly speaking, Warhammer: Mark of Chaos isn't a direct port of the tabletop version, but actually an entirely new experience.

While the title has already been shipped to retailers, European and Australian gamers can now also download Black Hole Entertainment's game via the Gamer's Gate website. If you can't manage to hop over to your nearest retailer, why not simply download it?

It's going to be all about battle tactics and warfare this time around, without having to focus on the whole hoopla of base-building and resource-gathering. Face it, some gamers would rather just get it on with the battle right away.

Besides, if webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del would rather play the PC "port" rather than the tabletop, then you can't deny a guy for wanting bloodshed without the meticulous fortress management.

Mark of ChaosFinally, Namco Bandai's Warhammer: Mark of Chaos has shipped to retail outlets throughout North America. Setting the story in battles of epic proportions between armies and demons, the game "pushes the boundaries of interactive entertainment, with some of the most visceral battles ever seen in a real-time strategy game," said Senior VP for the Development Group for Namco Bandai Games America Inc., Makoto Iwai.

Black Hole Entertainment closely worked with Namco Bandai so that they may bring an immersive PC game, that is entertaining at the same time, which will be true to the renowned Warhammer universe based on the "best-selling miniature table top game." Warhammer: Mark of Chaos has been rated by the ESRB with an "M" for Mature. It is tagged at US$ 49.99.

Mark of ChaosAlthough Black Hole Entertainment's Warhammer: Mark of Chaos won't be out for another couple of weeks, the good news is that you can now download the sample online. For as long as you have a hard disk with a patio extension (strong constitution too, of course), then you're all set to get the 1144MB demo.

Featured are three tutorials, along with a single-player mission. Published by Namco, the full game focuses on the storyline of players taking control of Empire, Chaos, Skaven and High Elf armies. How is this different from the other Warhammer RTS - the Dawn of War? This title's more into the earthbound concerns, and not the sci-fi stuff that the sister title dwells on.

So, check it out and let us know how you find it.

It's way before the 40K: Black Hole Entertainment and Namco Bandai's Warhammer: Mark of Chaos is set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe (think Tolkien with more of the grit, and none of the sci-fi of 40K). And with the 40K universe having its own RTS, why not Fantasy?

Mark of Chaos, unlike its 40K counterparts, is a real-time tactics game in the vein of the Total War series, rather than an RTS. This means that the battle and economic aspects are handled separately instead, so you can pound the living daylights out of Chaos - and worry about the economic crap later.

And to celebrate this title going gold, Black Hole and Namco Bandai have released these screenshots, artwork, and this latest gameplay trailer for Mark of Chaos. Just remember you won't be seeing a Space Marine in any of these.
