Have you been good for this holiday season? Well, whether you were naughty or nice, Ubisoft has the game for you. Whether you're into assassins, solving murder cases or maybe even taking good care of your pets, Ubisoft is coming to town. One of their most highly anticipated games for the season, Assassin's Creed, will be coming in this November for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, with the PC version coming in early next year. It won't be in time for Christmas, but maybe it'll make a deadly romantic Valentine's gift. Beowulf (360, PS3, PSP, PC), the video game based on Robert Zemecki's new movie of the same name, will also be arriving this November, just in time for the movie. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (PS3, 360, PC) has been delayed from its holiday release date and will instead be arriving next year. The Wii's Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 will be arriving this December though. Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for the Xbox 360 will be arriving this October. So you'd better watch out, and you'd better not cry. You'd better not pout, and we'll tell you why. Gamers from all over get a game to play over the holidays from Ubisoft:

Some sparks flew at the Royal Television Society's Cambridge Convention when Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello said that TV is just as bad as the video game industry when it comes to violence. Michael Grade, Chairman of the British media company ITV, responded by saying that video games exist in a "moral vacuum."Riccitiello was expressing his views during a presentation, citing violence in TV shows and films to prove that the violent content is just as bad as in video games. As examples he showed clips from shows like 24 and CSI and films like Kill Bill and 300 and compared them to Grand Theft Auto. He expressed how video games are "unfairly demonized" in the press. He added that the two industries attract the same demographics but in distinctly different ways, saying: "With video games, I can be on the edge of my seat immersed in them, but TV is storytelling - I'm lying back and it comes to me." Grade of ITV countered Riccitiello, saying that video games are created in a "moral vacuum" compared to TV, which worked within the "framework of a dramatic narrative." |

When we heard of CSI: Hard Evidence (Xbox 360, Wii, PC, PS2, DS) being under Ubisoft's banner, we knew the license was in good hands. Break down evidence, recreate crime scenes, squeeze answers out of suspects; doing whatever it takes to unmask the criminal just like in the popular TV series sounds fun. Take a glimpse at what awaits by watching the video we've found.
Gritty atmosphere? Check. Cinematic presentation? Positive. Mysterious villains and equally mysterious victims? They're all there. Pack that in a video game, slap good graphics, then you've got a crime going on. In this video, you'll see gameplay footage from what seems to be a murder attempt in the casino. It's hard to miss all the elements that we've mentioned. Be careful not to flinch, this one's dangerous: |

Ubisoft announces today that Xbox 360 and Wii
owners, as well as those with a Nintendo DS and PlayStation 2, will be
able to enjoy a new CSI video game this coming Fall 2007. The new game
will be known as CSI: Hard Evidence and is being developed by Telltale Games. The PC version ships with the console versions.
Staying true to the CSI franchise, Hard Evidence continues on the crime-solving brand of experience the public has first come to love on TV. The game itself follows the story of Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, and the rest of the Las Vegas crew in solving crimes with the help of sophisticated lab equipments and realistic techniques. Hmm, when was the last time you played a game with Saving Private Ryan proportions - and effects? Here's one mod that has definitely made an impression since there were just so many corpses that we were beginning to wonder if "I see dead people" would be the appropriate caption for the screens below. Now, about the game, Merciless Mod v2.00 for Call of Duty 2 features a new class system, composed of Soldier, Sniper, Medic, Engineer, and Support Gunner. There are a variety of new weapons available, from the Panzerschreck, Panzerfaust, Mobile MG42, Mobile CAL30, to the Scoped Gewehr43. Blood and gore? Of course. This mod has more exploding stuff than Die Hard 3, more blood splatter than CSI, and more dead people than The Sixth Sense. You can download the game, see more screens, and watch a bloody gameplay vid by clicking the via link below. |

Whoooo are you? Whooo Whooo, Whooo Whooo? Yeah-huh, CSI-fanatic PC gamers all over the world can now rejoice and lets out whoops of "Woohoo!" as Ubisoft and CBS have just announced that CSI: Hard Evidence is currently under development for the PC. Telltale Games (same guys responsible for Sam & Max and Bone: Out From Boneville) is in charge of developing CSI: Hard Evidence, which will be based on the characters and storylines from the original hit CSI television series. As the game's publisher, Ubisoft has been enjoying the success that the CSI video game franchise has been reaping since the first CSI title was released in March 2003. Now you'll get to continue living out those forensic fantasies of yours as you join Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows and the rest of the CSI Las Vegas gang to help solve crimes using realistic techniques and lab equipment. Oh, and what's more is that Hard Evidence will have an all-new garage lab for analyzing ginormous pieces of evidence such as cars and boats, with lab mini-games, and with more areas to explore. The CSI video game franchise, published by Ubisoft has sold approximately 2.4 million units worldwide since the first CSI title was relased and we can only expect these sales figures to go up even more when CSI: Hard Evidence is released Spring next year. |
