FilePlanet Founder's Club members are in for another real treat. After firing the first shots in Electronic Arts' upcoming FPS Crysis, these lucky people will be the first to command the warring factions of Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. Gas Powered Games and THQ in cooperation with FilePlanet have launched the Beta of this stand-alone expansion to Supreme Commander. That's right, you don't have to own the first game and install it in order to play Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. New gameplay features are trumpeted by the developers. The biggest addition, of course, will be the new faction called the Seraphim. Balancing tweaks, new units and some additions to mechanics round up the rest of the features. Are you a FilePlanet Founder's Club member? We'll be glad to hear about your experience with the game. |

If you own a fairly powerful computer and you're into FPS games, you're probably one of the many waiting for Crytek and Electronic Arts' upcoming big gun Crysis. A Beta was opened recently with Founder's Club FilePlanet members getting the first crack. Now, an open Beta is announced to let everyone in on the fun. You can enter the public Beta with a free FilePlanet account which you can create by signing up free of charge. Once you do so, you'll have the chance to be one of those sampling this tasty piece of eye candy. Dazzling visuals aren't the only weapons in this shooter's arsenal. The gameplay in Crysis also looks like it'll be a lot of fun with customizable weapons, an open-ended mission objective layout, and different nano muscle suit modes. Hero Jake Dunn can choose from one of four settings depending on which one applies to combat needs: strength, speed, cloak, and armor. Check out the Crysis Beta now and tell us what you think. |

Electronic Arts and Crytek have decided that some lucky people should already have access to the beta of their awesome-looking, upcoming FPS Crysis. However, you'd have to be a FilePlanet subscriber (and not just a registered member) to join the fun. The first batch of beta testers are all set for the maiden voyage at 2:30 PST, leaving most of us green with envy. No word as to how and when non-subscribers will ever get a hands-on has been announced. Crysis is the successor to Far Cry, starring a protagonist named Jack Dunn who can be modified because he has a nano(- muscle) suit to give him superhuman abilities. Weapons are also customizable with accessories such as suppressors, laser sights and telescopes for more accurate shooting. Crysis is a PC-only release as of the moment. |

Er, Rabbids can't pay for a retail copy? For the guys who haven't picked up on the ugly cuddliness (trust us - they're both) that is Ubisoft's Rayman Raving Rabbids (PC, PS2, Wii, GBA, DS, Xbox 360, Mobile), we're happy to report that the game's PC port is now a free downloadable.Just be sure to have plenty of space cleared up on your Hard Drive - the game is expected to come in at 1,282.6 MB, or roughly just a little over 1 GB worth of memory. Just don't be too surprised if you run into the occasional in-game ad - they're part of the free pack. Once again, guys who haven't picked up any of the Raving Rabbids games on the other consoles, enjoy this freebie courtesy of Ubisoft via Fileplanet (see read link). Make sure to wait up for the upcoming sequel, Raving Rabbids 2 for the Wii and DS. |

PC BioShock fans, the wait is finally over. We know that you've been wailing and gnashing teeth since the Xbox 360 demo was released last week (among other things, like not being able to play the PC version until August 21). Well, Irrational Games and 2K Games heard your near maniacal pleas and will be releasing the PC demo on Monday, 7 p.m. EST. Wait, that's later today. According to BioShock's official website, you can pre-load the demo from FilePlanet, though the BioShock demo will be going live at seven, on the dot. Before you run over there, make sure that you're running on your video card's latest drivers just so you can squeeze the best visuals from them. Also, players from Europe need not fret as Eurogamer announced that the demo will be going live at midnight for their side of the Atlantic. At any rate, keep your your eyes peeled for the demo on the Cult of Rapture website, as we'll be doing the same. Stay tuned for more BioShock (Xbox 360 and PC) news and updates. If you didn't get into the first beta test for id Software's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, you might still get a chance to do so. An update on the developers blog by badman has let slip that the game's Beta 2 will be rolling out. The big news though is the announcement of an additional 25,000 beta keys that will be released to the public. While some of these keys were already given out to those attending Quakecon, the vast majority will be available via FilePlanet at the same time as the updated beta client. To get ready for this, the devs are working with all of the Game Server Providers running servers for the ETQW Public Beta to make sure all of the machines are up to date when Beta 2 launches. A cool thing about this build is the fact that it comes with unranked server code. This means that players will be able to run their own servers and customize games to their liking. Be sure to keep checking back here for more updates on the game. |

Still haven't got your hands on Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars? You've been missing out on some solid FPS action. No need to worry though; more beta keys are up for grabs. The first batch of beta keys were only available to FilePlanet subscribers, but any registered member can now join. This fourth stage of beta key giveaways is for anyone and everyone with a free FilePlanet account. Won't be surprising if numbers of players online triple, but the process is expected to be faster this time. Classic multiplayer slaughter, very fast paced action, wide array of weapons - everything you'd expect from a QUAKE title is there. Some say that the graphics look dated, but you better experience it first before making a judgement. What are you waiting for? Grab that beta key now! |

Being one of id Software's premiere places to host the beta of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars (also for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3), FilePlanet is now offering a chance for PC gamers subscribed in any service of the site to grab a chance to test out the latest QUAKE title from Splash Damage, together with the development teams themselves. FilePlanet slipped the first batch of beta keys to FilePlanet subscribers, while they've already forwarded an announcement to other FilePlanet members about to receive the second batch. As of now, the offer is temporarily halted until further notice. FilePlanet reports that they will also open up the offer to non-subscribers (but registered members) of the site, so if you don't have a GameSpy ID, now's the time to grab one up for this once in a lifetime. According to Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars community managers, these beta keys are exclusive to FilePlanet and does not count against the 60,000 beta keys announced previously by Splash Damage. FilePlanet invitees and the (extremely) lucky open-beta testers will have the unique privilege to test "Sewer," a map that is loosely based on one part of the Pacific Theatre campaign, situated in the Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa, Japan. |

For those who have been waiting to take a crack at id Software's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, this is your chance to do so. The public beta is imminent and they have announced the necessary information that you will need to participate in it on the community site.First up, players have to realize that this is a beta test. It will be used to test the system they will be using and the game itself. Their announcement specifically stated that they will be collecting some data on your hardware configuration as you play to see what is exactly happening. It was also mentioned that people who just want to play a game for free "may find it a frustrating experience," since this is not the finished product. That said, the guys at id Software are opening up 60,000 slots for the open beta of the game. To get one of the slots, simply mosey over to FilePlanet to download the client and get a license code. You should remember though that a fixed number of beta slots have been reserved for FilePlanet subscribers, while the rest of the slots will then go to those with free FilePlanet accounts. When the event starts, participants will be sent their own unique license code that is required for play. The official start date for the public beta has not yet been announced, though it is expected to start "in the near future." More details of the beta will be announced in the future so be sure to keep checking back here for more updates on Enemy Territiory: Quake Wars. |
