If recent Chart Track polls show anything, The UK region is enjoying Jack Sparrow's latest misadventures in Disney Interactive's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, both on the silverscreen and on consoles. The game is also the number 3 seller for the Nintendo DS and Wii console. PotC's success doesn't seem to end in Britain, however, as we pick up a press wire indicating the game's further success in the rest of Europe.

In France, the game reportedly took the number 1 position on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP; number 2 on Windows PC, number 4 on the Wii, and number 8 on the Nintendo DS. Germany sees the game taking number 1 position on the PS3, number 2 on the PSP, number 3 on PS2 and Xbox 360, and number 4 on the Wii. Here were Disney Interactive Studios VP Craig Relyea's comments regarding the sales:

We are extremely pleased with the success of our Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End video games. Fans all over the world are drawn to the dynamic gameplay and stunning graphics that provide players with a truly immersive experience that goes beyond the events of the films.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End will be released on multi-platforms - Image 1

Enigmatic Captain Jack Sparrow and the rest of the crew is back and they are set to conquer your hearts with their swords and fantastic adventures! Disney Interactive Studios (DIS) just announced that on May 22, 2007, it will be releasing new video game Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS3), Wii, PlayStation Portable (PSP), DS, PC, and PlayStation 2.

"Fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise will experience adventures inspired by the second and third films while going far beyond the events of those films. Our games go beyond the films to introduce legendary pirates, new locations and unique endings that will satisfy the pirate in each of us," said Craig Relyea, Marketing Vice President for DIS.

Disney mentioned that it will release more details in the following weeks dedicated for each system. But as of now, the publisher said that the new video game will sport innovative dueling controls, as well as special moves that can be used to outwit and defeat enemies.

The DS version of At World's End was rated E10+ by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) and was developed by Amaze Entertainment. On the other hand, the console versions of the game, as well as the PSP and PC was given to Eurocom Entertainment. All versions were rated T by the classifications board.

And now we leave you with the immortal words of the great pirate captain, "I'm Captain Jack Sparrow. I think we've all arrived at a very special place, eh? Spiritually, ecumenically...grammatically."

Get ready laddies!"It is my intention to commandeer one of these ships; pick up a crew in Tortuga; raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer my weaselly black guts out," said Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie "Pirates of the Carribean". Good ol' Captain Jack. We saw the island of Tortuga a number of times in the movie and what a sight it was. Yup, Tortuga was once a pirate haven, neutral hideout for pirates and their loot.

So we have fuzzy idea of what to expect from Tortuga - Two Treasures. In the game, you play as the pirate Thomas "Hawk" Blythe, captain of the frigate "Hawkwind". Hawk, together with his girlfriend Sangua (a voodoo priestess), works under the command of the infamous "Blackbeard".

The pirate Henry Morgan was Governor of Jamaica and was rumored to have amassed a vast treasure from his exploits. It was said that Morgan hid his treasures and killed those who knew about his treasure. Fifty years later, Hawk and Sangua go in search of Henry Morgan's fabled treasure. It wasn't all smooth sailing for Hawk as voodoo magic, a deadly curse, Blackbeard's wrath, and betrayal all stand between him and the treasure.

You, as Hawk, can take a host of alternatives to achieve his goals, but a level head and some strategic planning should always be within reach. You'll have a chance to fight close combat with sailors or sneak past enemies using stealth. Be ready for sword fights and cannon battles.

Tortuga - Two Treasures by CDV Software Entertainment is set for release in March of next year. Savvy?

Voyage Century

For anyone who's ever had pirate fantasies before, during, and after Pirates of the Carribean started showing in theaters, or for anyone who just seems to have insatiable wanderlust, then this is your chance to become the suave, elegant, swashbuckling, brimming-with-panache pirate you've always wanted to be... or a scurvy, one-eyed, sea-dog, if that's what you want... whatever floats your boat, really.

An MMORPG that's still in development under the hands of the Snail Game team, Voyage Century claims to be the first 3D nautical online game, ever. In this game, players will be able to be the captain of his or her own battleship and sail the oceans of this imaginary world. In your journeys, you can choose to be a wily merchant, an explorer, or a pirate who can - in the gentle words of Jack Sparrow - commandeer one of those ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer your weaselly black guts out.

While we wait for the dev team to finally let us get our hands on this game, here's some screenshots of what the Marco Polo in you can look forward to.
