What to do when your event is drawing flak and your circle of supporters are leaving one by one? Try a different strategy, for one. And this is what ESA seems to be doing for next year's E3. Talks of them "going public" are circulating the Internet's grapevines. But how probable is this move? |

A gathering of the top gaming industry executives was the grand finale to the MI6 conference. This panel included big wigs such as Peter Moore, Laurent Detoc,
and Alex St. John, among others. During the panel, they discussed the future of the gaming market. According to the panel though, it seems the word "gaming" will disappear by 2020. You can read more on this in the full article. |

There are many lists out there. A list of leaked questions from a videogame company. A list of top selling titles for the month of November. And so on. You can ask me now who I think is the best person in the world and the answer I will give you is my girlfriend. While you may not agree with me, the point here is that everything is just a matter of perspective. So for today, we'd like to share with you the perspective being held gaming site NextGen regarding the top 25 people of the year. According to them, This list is not a ranking of the best, most powerful, most talented, most amazing people in the industry. It is a ranking of the people who, we at Next-Gen feel, have made positive, significant and noteworthy contributions to gaming and the game industry through 2006. Among the personalities who made it in the list, there are a couple of faces that made me think twice. Take for example the case of Patricia Vance of ESRB. According to NextGen, Vance has helped the industry keep control of a system that is proven to be effective. While I have no issues with that, I can't help but remember some of your comments regarding this organization. Again, at the end of it all, everything is just a matter of perspective. Of course, the gaming site provided a few explanations about their list. It's quite a long read but if you are interested, you can access it via the read link below. But if you just want to know who made it in the said list, here's the short version. Please feel free to speak your mind. See the list after the jump! |

Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America, once said that Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and "set the standard for what we know as the next-generation gaming experience." Now, the sequel is looking towards taking the original's success to all new heights.
The year is 2014 and Mexico has been thrown into full-scale civil war by rising conflict between Mexican loyalists and insurgent rebel forces. Under the command of Captain Scott Mitchell, the Ghosts are once again called upon to face an imminent threat to the United States. This time, the stakes are higher than ever, and the fate of two countries now lies in the hands of the Ghosts as they fend off an attack on U.S. soil. Building off of the events in the first game, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 once again places players in control of the U.S. military’s elite fighting unit, the Ghosts. Utilizing cutting-edge weaponry and technology, players must battle on both sides of the border to neutralize the escalating rebel threat. With features including changing climate, improved AI, an advanced Cross-Com system, air strikes from jet fighters, new weapons and a new soldier class, the Medic, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is one game that's sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats. For a little sneak peek at what to expect in the game, check out the screenshots below. More screenshots after the jump! |
