We have a rather sizeable haul of new games this week. The cream of the crop includes such titles as Tekken 6, DJ Hero, Forza Motorsport 3, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, and that undying (not undead -- no, that would actually be cool) Petz series. Dig in and see which games fit your tastes and budget.

The games sure are kicking up. This week, we've got another video game adaptation of a popular action hero franchise that's launching along the movie. Can  you guess which one it is?  We've also got several more big titles coming our way this week, from aliens to athletes, heroes and warriors, rockstars and (Karl's favorite) popstar. Don't look now, but it's another four-game batch for this week, with the exclusion of the digital-only releases. This week's biggest titles come from the Watchmen, as they get released into different titles for the PS3 and Xbox 360 respectively. But hey, if you're into guinea pigs and cartoony RTS, you'd probably like the other two in the bunch. Read up on this edition of On Shelves This Week for more info.

EA Sports confirmed the release date for their multiplatformer sports title, FIFA 10. Their press release on their official page sets the date for the game kickoff to be on October 2nd.

With this week's big guns coming as digital downloads, the games that will actually be on shelves this week won't be beckoning for your cash too hard. This week's MVP goes to NCAA Football 10, which has received some good reviews despite EA's lackluster performance in the last few years. You may not be personally interested in the rest of the list, but someone you know might love to get one as a gift. Who knows?

You'll have to postpone tossing the ol' pigskin in-game until Madden NFL 2010 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, PC, PS2) comes out, that is unless you're still playing Madden 09. In the meantime, EA Sports rolled out a bunch of screens for us to scrutinize while waiting for updates on the latest game in the John Madden franchise.

Minus the digital downloads, this has to be one of the smallest batches we've seen on On Shelves. Talk about a dry batch - no AAA titles in this lineup. Anyway, there's still ArmA II for the PC if you're a die-hard FPS fan, or if you're a baseball fan, 2K Sports' The Bigs is also coming out this week. We've already heard Shia LaBeouf talk Transformers, and he ended up dissing the Wii. But what about his co-star and leading lady, Megan Fox? She too has a few words to share about their latest project and you can catch them in this video after the jump.

Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts will soon be out in cinemas, but here we have the accompanying video game, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, coming out before the movie, so fans can get sneak peeks through the game.
