Want some "large-scale Hollywood style action sequences in real-world political hot spots, sure to appease fans of the FPS genre"? No need to fret, then, cause Eidos Interactive has got just the right thing for you. They have announced earlier today the next iteration in the Conflict series, Conflict: Denied Ops. Matt Gorman, Eidos Inc's Director of Marketing describes, "It's brutal, explosive, and easy to pick up and play yet still incorporates advanced co-op and environmental tactics." Intrigued yet? Confict: Denied Ops involves the US government in an action-packed operation that aims to get rid of those threatening the country's security. There will be two operatives which are both highly specialized in weapons and military tactics. What makes it even more exciting is that the members of the unit must not be identified or even just associated with the government, else they make themselves vulnerable to the dangers lurking their mission. Hence the title "Denied Ops". And what of the abilities? Well, for one you get to play in a highly destructible environment. It doesn't get better than that. Oh, wait. Maybe in this game it does. You can shoot through walls for you to get comfy sniping holes as well as creating new paths through blastings so you can ambush your enemies down. Gameplay involves - and is actually focused on - two-man tactics, and you can also conveniently switch from one teammate to another. Confict: Denied Ops is the fifth game in the Conflict series and is being worked on by Pivotal Games. You can expect this newest Conflict title in Spring 2008 jumping aboard your Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. |

And this time, this is for real. According to a report by Games Industry, SCi Entertainment was actually at work on PlayStation 3 versions of Crossfire and Kane & Lynch which should be coming out by the financial year of 2008. The Xbox 360 and PC versions of the two games should be out by the end of 2007. Previously, Eidos shot down any possibility of IOI's title coming to the PlayStation 3, stating that the press release that reported the news was full of flaws. Apparently, the fact that Kane & Lynch: Dead Men was also being ported to Sony's next-gen console was included in those errors. But now SCi Entertainment has revealed that Pivotal Games' Crossfire and IO Interactive's Kane & Lynch: Dead Men are indeed getting ported and are already at "advanced stages of development." And not only that, the titles should be almost simultaneously released with the PC and Xbox 360 versions. Expect Kane & Lynch: Dead Men to hit stores this Christmas, while Crossfire to arrive by early 2008. There have been no news, however, of port versions for the PSP and PS2. |
