Mention Shenmue III to any Shenmue fan and you'll probably get one of two reactions: a breakdown followed by uncontrollable sobbing or a vicious and expletive -filled rant against Sega. While that series doesn't seem to be getting any closure anytime soon, series protagonist Ryo Hazuki is making a comeback of sorts. In Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, no less.

A University of Michigan economics professor was recently brought in as an expert witness in a class-action lawsuit filed by a pair of gamers that accuses Electronic Arts of using its exclusive licensing deal with the NFL to muscle Madden NFL competitor NFL 2K out of the picture. Dr. Jeffrey MacKie-Mason alleged that EA overcharged those who bought Madden games between US$ 701 million and US$ 926 million from 2006 through 2009. Big numbers there, but analyst Michael Pachter thinks it's nothing more than horse manure.

After being confirmed for a 2009 release back in March, we've now narrowed down the waiting period for Sega's "Modern Day Spy-RPG", Alpha Protocol (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC). The release date: October 6th 2009 for North America.

 Following the government decision to uphold PEGI as the sole and official ratings board in UK, the BBFC has sent their well-wishes, albeit still with that restrained barb. BBFC Director David Cooke insisted that the BBFC would have been the better choice. Meanwhile, top industry heads are giving their praises for the government's pick. "Ready for GAME time!" Tokyo Game Show 2008's theme is definitely one that can get your heart pumping. Knowing the exhibitors at TGS 2008 might give a hint as to what games we can probably expect on the show floor (and knowing what games can, in turn, give us a hint as to what types of boothbabe cosplays we might expect to see too).
