While the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Volition's Red Faction: Guerrilla are still on track for their June 9 releases, the PC version hasn't fared so well.

Space simulations haven't been 'verse-shaking since Volition's last epic rendering of Descent FreeSpace 2, but they have always come at sweet times when the ache for a FreeSpace 3 and Descent 4 have been pulsing at an all-time high. Space Wolves and Tarr Chronicles were lovely distractions while the X universe continues to provide a leisurely sandbox experience. But some really need that sci-fi dogfighting fix, and Paradox Interactive hopes to  deliver with Dark Horizon (no relation to the flash game). Details and video flow at the full story.

THQ's Brian Farrell isn't shy to point out that Saints Row is one of their new, blossoming franchises, and they promised to give such videogame titles the attention they deserve from the self-proclaimed "creative hub" of the industry. Saints Row 2 is confirmed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 after being an Xbox 360 exclusive with the first game, but it would appear the sequel isn't planned for consoles only. Even though the target platform list for Blazing Lizard's new downloadable game is still vague, Pirates vs Ninjas Dodgeball is fast becoming a need-to-try game in this blogger's book.

The indie game developer created by a trio from THQ's Volition studios (Red Faction series, Saints Row, Descent: FreeSpace series) have released yet another set of screenshots, because they probably know we just can't get enough.

Don't hurt yourself trying to look close enough though, because we already checked; Blazing Lizard hasn't plastered any hints on the three additional character types. So all you'll see here are Samurais and Cutlasses, until Chuck Norris rolls his dice with a combat knife. Well, not that he would need one.

Now only if Blazing Lizards would get to making a successor to the Descent: FreeSpace series...
