Two years ago, Atari Europe was fortunately in the safe zone, despite
the mother company's grim and disheartening financial report of Q2
2007. Back then, the problem was isolated only to the US offices, and
the Atari branch was said to be unharmed by the restructuring overseas. Today, however, Atari Europe is no more, now having been officially acquired by Namco Bandai. |

Our mates down under just whipped out the banhammer, seeing as they don't seem to want any necro in their vision. After refusing classification to NecroVision, the Australian Classification Board subsequently banned the ghastly World War I shooter, citing a number of offensive material found in the game. |

By now, Fallout 3 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC) fans are no doubt familiar with the classification troubles that Bethesda encountered in Australia. Now, if you Australian gamers out there are thinking that you'll be getting a different version from everybody else, well, that's not the case. Everybody will be getting the exact same version of Fallout 3. |

Fallout 3 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC) has only recently been cleared for release in Australia after the whole drugs debacle, but it looks like Bethesda's Pete Hines is still a bit peeved. According to the Fallout 3 product manager, censorship laws that differ from country to country are "frustrating". More from Hines in the full article. |

Imagine connection speeds up to 60 times more than what we have today. That'd be a miracle, since we all know that even if the fastest pipelines are laid, there are still the limitations of electronics to deal with. Luckily, Australian scientists have found a way to drop electronics altogether, and make circuits fully photonic. Yes, photonic. The future awaits at the full story. |

As of press time, "soon" is ticking at T-minus 3 days and 16 hours. Gas Powered Games' Dungeon Siege-gone-zero gravity has been silent as of late in the press, but it seems that the developers have not been slacking in Space Siege's development. In a few days, we'll be able to see whether the time spent since the last gameplay montage has improved, and what the sci-fi action RPG has to offer us. On ot the full story for just a little more. |

All you troublemakers out there waiting for Saints Row 2 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) in Australia can stop crossing your fingers. THQ has confirmed that the OFLC gave the game a thumbs up with an MA 15+ rating. That means not only will the game not be banned, it'll be available to a wider age group, too. Details on some of the gameplay elements come after the jump. |

It's a bit of a stretch, so to speak, as we're not sure how accurate the Office of Film and Literature Classification of the Australian Government is when it comes to video games. But as the situation stands, Silicon Knight's Too Human on the Xbox 360 apparently made the M for Mature rating cut for violence, after a revised version of the game was sent for review to Australia and other regions. |
