In light of the EA Maxis' Spore going gold, concern once again has hit the PC gaming segment over the definite inclusion of digital rights management (DRM) software with each copy. Many have argued over the integration of SecuROM on executables of The Sims 2 and its expansions, and now that Spore producer Lucy Bradshaw has confirmed Spore will be succeeded by at least one expansion, there's a whole lot of bickering to come for PC gamers. More details at the full story. |

Okay, so this actually came about the same time that BioWare officially announced the arrival of Bring Down the Sky for Mass Effect on Windows, but I guess shock takes the better of you after learning some highly anticipated games just got pushed back. This goes out to the folks who probably got out of sync with the beat as well. It's time to update your RPG to the latest. Changes are listed at the full story. |

And not a moment too soon, for folks still sour at the presence of SecuROM's digital rights management software might have given up on Mass Effect on the PC entirely. It's a sad thing to think that, especially from a game that oozes a lot of ambition and the right directions. Luckily, the highly-recommended downloadable content was also formatted with the PC gamer in mind, so there might be a degree of redeeming factor involved if you grab it. But before you do, there's a few more things to tackle at the full story. |

Or in short, BioWare will be tracing the footsteps of Stardock Systems in their approach to piracy. What took them so long to figure this one out, you ask? Few can really explain, but we doubt we'll be seeing BioWare dumping copy protection in the near future. As long as Electronic Arts has something to say about anti-piracy measures, those Mass Effect woes aren't going away. More on BioWare's grand plan at the full story. |

Decidedly cryptic and unassuming, a website announcement for Dragon Age listed only the vague outline of a logo, coupled with a date: July 9, 2008. Learn more about it after the jump! |

So it would appear that some third-party developers are getting what Stardock meant - the fate of PC gaming is on the hands of the developers. BioWare, a reputable PC developer of the past, has also expanded to the console market like many others, but they aren't about to abandon the gaming platform. Speaking to MTV, CEOs Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk said that the role-play experts might keep developing PC exclusives in the long run. And there's a little hope for Apple iPhone games from them as well. More on that when you click "read more". |

Hot off EA CEO John Riccitiello's announcement of a new Need For Speed game, some less exciting revelations were dropped. The publisher revealed that two of their premiere titles won't be coming out until early 2009. The games in question are BioWare's Dragon Age and Pandemic's Saboteur. More details after the jump. |
