Blizzard Entertainment - Image 1Superannuation is reporting that Blizzard filed three trademark registrations for the title "Cataclysm". What is it? Nobody knows for sure yet, but the trademark did indicate that it covers "computer games, paper-based products (comic books, trading cards, coloring books), and online games." Sounds like they're getting ready to build a merchandising empire with this one.

StarCraft 2 - Image 1The fans are not pleased with Blizzard's decision to not have LAN multiplayer in StarCraft II. And as with any other dissatisfied fans, they went online and created a petition to convince Blizzard to do otherwise.

StarCraft II - Image 1 Planning a LAN party to celebrate the launch of StarCraft II (whenever that is)? You can still do that, but you'll all have to be connected to Battle.Net first. Blizzard has confirmed that the upcoming RTS game will not support LAN play to further build up Battle.Net as the multiplayer solution for their games. That, and to combat piracy.

Mike Griffith - Image 1Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith has revealed that they have now set their sights on breaking into the action genre with a brand new IP. Details about the IP are still scarce, but Griffith did share with Develop why Activision, which has become decidedly restrictive when it comes to new IP, made the decision.
