Right on time! The E for All Expo suddenly suffered a blackout just when the crowds started to thin out on 7:10 pm, according to gaming site Kotaku. The blackout spread across the Nintendo and EA booths located in the South Hall, basically cutting short their time with the Super Smash Bros. Brawl demo as well as Quake IV.Of course, when blackouts happen some people just tend to go a little naughty. Were there some lucky chaps who managed to swipe a Super Smash Bros. Brawl demo while the lights are out? We may just have to check the internet for a bit to find out. Picture courtesy of Kotaku! |

The winners have been selected for this year's Into the Pixel showcase from the E for All Expo. Sixteen video game inspired art have been selected and are now being shown in Los Angeles. The art, like video games, doesn't only focus on the dark and the sombre but also on the fanciful and the strange. This year's winners of Into the Pixel include art from the barren landscapes of Lair to the colorful playfulness of Viva Piñata. The winning pieces span games from a varied set of platforms and genres. MMORPGs are also represented with a work inspired by EVE Online. There's even one inspired by Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii, DS). Check out more images behind the Full Article link below and see if you can name the game, or if one of your favorites managed to make it. |

If you're nowhere near the E For All venue in Los Angeles, you don't have to get bummed out because you still have a chance to know just what went down this crazy Friday. Major titles from the industry's biggest companies have been exhibited much to the crowd's delight. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the popular Nintendo DS handheld took center stage at 1:00 PM in the afternoon. It was presented in the middle of a double whammy from Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock which jammed at 12:00 PM and again at 2:00 PM. At 3:00 PM L.A. Lakers point guard Derek Fisher and L.A. Clippers shooting guard Corey Magette treated the crowd to some virtual hardcourt action as they went one on one in EA Sports' NBA Live 08 (Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360). Speaking of celebrities, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Jim Ross of WWE Raw were right there in the THQ booth from 12:00PM to 2:00 PM to sign autographs for their young fans. They're promoting WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 (Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360) by THQ. By 4:00 PM, Activision took the spotlight again to show everyone the beauty that is its upcoming shooting title Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360). At 5:00 PM it was Namco Networks' turn to show off what it's got by holding its Ms. Pac-Man Championships using old-school arcade machines. Namco's contest coincided with Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 3) taking the stage. The evening held the climax for Friday as Video Games Live was featured at the new Nokia Theatre which is very close to the Staples Center and the L.A. Convention Center. Fans were free to visit and enjoy the exhibits held there. We've got more E For All updates coming so keep it with us. |

In today's E For All show, popular printer manufacturer Hewlett-Packard showed off its first extreme gaming PC called the Blackbird 002. This rig comes equipped with some of the best tools in the industry, which should make even the highest-end titles (e.g. Crysis) a piece of cake to run. The brains of this extreme gaming PC is an Intel Core 2 Duo/Extreme/Extreme Quad-core (whichever you can afford) processor complemented by 4GB of DDR2 RAM and two Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics cards in SLI-mode. It packs a proprietary 1.1 kilowatt power supply, a proprietary 3x PCI-E n680i motherboard, on-board Creative Xi-Fi Extreme 7.1 audio (Fatal1ty or Xtreme Gaming), and like all hobbyist PCs, it will cost you your body, your mind and your soul to own one. The beast is currently housed at HP's E For All booth - number 2023. If you were impressed with this monster from HP, there's more still to come. VoodooPC was recently acquired by HP, and some of the gaming PC maker's gear will be on display in later times during the inaugural E For All. We'll keep you posted for more PC gaming news. |

The E For All Expo is just right around the corner (it starts tomorrow, to be exact) and one of the attendees, Konami has released its line-up of titles for the said event. Konami will also be showing off its upcoming baby, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, like it did on the last games convention, the Tokyo Games Show. It's confirmed, MGS4 will be playable at the E For All.Konami booth will be occupying twelve kiosks - the bigger, the better for the MGS4 trial version, right? The said version will be giving a bit of a primer for Guns of the Patriots' new gameplay factors, sneaking and battlefield foremost. The best thing of all? The trial version is in English. Of course, Konami has other titles up its sleeve, showing off a diverse line-up of video game titles. Here's the list:

Gaming expo E for All will open its doors wide open tomorrow at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and there's going to be events galore in store for its visitors. First off a gaming career seminar will be held on Friday and Saturday, helping game enthusiasts hoping to get a big piece of the gaming industry pie by letting them meet HR executives of game companies. There will be tournaments as well, with Halo 3 (by Bungie for Xbox 360 and PC)and Guitar Hero II competitions that offer cash and gift card prizes for tournament winners. MTV casting directors will also roam around for the lookout for good bands playing Rock Band; two chosen bands will be whisked off to New York City to undergo special "rock band training" as well as an appearance on MTV. Of course, there's the playable game demos, which most visitors will most probably look forward to the most. Playable demos include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, among others. |

Word has gone around that Electronic Arts is packing a hefty line-up of games to feature in downtown Los Angeles next week for IDG World Expo's E For All 2007 (EforAll as the organizers say), and its nothing short of a figurative big bang. Tailing behind EforAll's primary exhibitor and the world's superstar publisher is The Simpsons Game (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS) and Rock Band (Xbox 360, PS3). The line-up also includes the following games:

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Derek Fisher and Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Corey Maggette will grace the inaugural E for All Expo on October 19, 2007 to play some one-on-one off the court. The two NBA stars are also big gaming fans, and they'll show off their skills at one of the industry's newest shindigs. The game they'll be playing hasn't been disclosed yet, but to spice things up, pro gamer Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel will join them and take part in the action himself. Wendel is considered as one of the very best cyber-athletes in the planet today. "Getting to compete against Corey and Fatal1ty at E for All is an opportunity I couldn't pass up," said Fisher. "Playing video games has always been a cool way for me to hone my competitive skills off the court. I have fun when I play, but I still play to win. I can't wait to test my skills out against these guys!" E for All is one of the few game expos that are open to the public. It is viewed as a spiritual successor to E3's old identity which has seen a drastic change with restrictions this year. E for All has been able to bring some major video game companies to its fold and is all set to rock starting October 18 until October 24. Fisher and Maggette are both known for their distinct styles of play on the court. Maggette is among the better swingmen in the league with his good mix of ball handling and shooting. Fisher, on the other hand, is a stalwart of the Lakers' three-peat, providing more firepower to the Shaquille O'Neal-Kobe Bryant tandem in the earlier part of the decade. |

Despite hitting some snags in the form of Sega, SCEA, Capcom, and Microsoft backouts, it appears E for All is gaining steam after getting big boosts from dozens of other movers in the gaming industry who have confirmed participation. To prove that E for All is going smoothly as planned, IDG World Expo is now announcing that Future US, Inc. will be publishing the official show magazine for the said event. This is big news especially for those who are familiar in the ins and outs of attending conventions like this. Why? Event magazines not only provide attendees with a good source of show floor guide, exhibitor and product information, special features and interviews, it's also a great souvenir - it goes right beside event press IDs and pictures with booth babes. Anyway, IDG World Expo CEO Mary Dolaher expressed the same enthusiasm after saying: We're thrilled to team up with Future to create "E for All Magazine," the event’s official show publication. Given Future’s experience producing publications such as Official Xbox Magazine, PSM: Independent PlayStation Magazine, PC Gamer, Maximum PC and Next Gen, we’re greatly anticipating the creation of a top-notch magazine and commemorative keepsake for this inaugural event. The magazine will be a 64-page collector's edition in support of the inaugural E for All. Contents will include feature stories, game reviews, product highlights, a full expo schedule, floor plan and exclusive features, interviews with acclaimed game developers, and a user-generated car art from Forza 2. E for All magazine will also carry a commemorative cover to give spice to the said event which will take place October 18-21 at the Los Angeles Convention Center - told you it's a keeper. |
