Sources for GameInformer magazine has sent word that Eidos Interactive just might be pushing the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, and PC) for a 4th Quarter release, instead of the initially scheduled June 23 ship out. Let's get to the bottom of this, shall we?

When you're talking about Square Enix in a global scale, there's no doubting that they've managed to rake in huge amounts of sales for all their franchises. Final Fantasy? Kingdom Hearts? And of course, the more recently acquired Tomb Raider? How do they all stack up against each other? It's not surprising that they're raking sales by the millions for these big franchises. I'm just left wondering... how do they fare against lifetime sales for MGS, GTA, CoD, and the like?

You know you're automatically on the losing team if you're not the one wearing the cape and mask. C'mon, seriously, Batman needs no introduction when it comes to the art of pwnage. He can whoop your sorry ass like it were jello. As such, two videos today showing lots of pwnage gameplay from Batman: Arkham Asylum. Slow-mo finishing blows? Check. Bone-crunching sound effects? Check! LocoRoco-like muscle physics on the thugs? Che---err, whut?

Eidos-Montreal is currently working on a new title in the Deus Ex series. That's no secret, but are they also developing a new Thief game? That's what some people are thinking, based purely on one little image found on the studio's website.

Remember what Watchmen's Rorschach said when he got jailed? "I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me!" Sounds an awful lot like something Batman would say, but then again, it could also hold true for all them baddies in Arkham Asylum. One of them being Bane - the guy who I know for a fact cracked Bruce's spine. Another Bane memory: him being Uma Thurman Poison Ivy's lackey in Batman & Robin. Scratch that. Here's another cool memory of Bane: him throwing Batman through a brick wall, complete with cardboard-y cape.

There's always to sides to a fence, so they say. And when it comes to game reviews, the usual side that we see are the journalists' - particularly highlighting the many issues they have to contend with, especially with PR people breathing down their necks to bag a good score for their product. Today, however, we are allowed a peek at the other side of the fence as one guy from the biz explains why devs push the journalists to give their games a good score - and why it is right for them to do it.

Eidos Interactive has dropped its latest gameplay teaser for their up and coming Tomb Raider: Underworld (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS) and we'd have to say we're particularly intrigued by the last bit of the video. Is there another version of Lara in the game? Sort of like a good-Lara, bad-Lara thing going on? Or is it just some other girl that oddly sounds like her?

Coming up for Game Informer subscribers is the "world exclusive" sneak peek at Eidos' new project on Unreal Engine 3 stilts: Batman: Arkham Asylum. The word is at in-the-know gaming forums is that the game is geared for the next-generation platforms and the PC, based on first-hand read-through of the exclusive material.
