Borderlands is one of the better looking games I've seen all year thanks to the new art style. Still, the gameplay is much more important in an open-world game like this. The best way to show it off would probably be by way of a demo, but there's a chance that we won't be seeing a Borderlands demo anytime soon. DLC, on the other hand, has a better chance of appearing.

It's not exactly a firm release date yet, but the release window for Gearbox Software's upcoming sci-fi shooter-RPG Borderlands has been narrowed down.

Here's a new trailer for Gearbox Software and 2K Games' Borderlands (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC) showing off the game's new concept art-ish style. It seems to be mostly made of cutscenes but there's a second's worth of gameplay footage that doesn't seem to be all that different from the pre-rendered parts. Check it out after the jump.

A recent announcement from Double Fusion might just be the starting signal of the in-game advertising flurry for 2008's line up of games. Gearbox Software, the developers behind Borderlands, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway, have apparently signed an agreement with advertising firm Double Fusion, permitting the use of the dynamic advertising technology in future games from Gearbox. Sega has finally revealed details on Gearbox Software's upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC). As the title of the game suggests, you play a Colonial Marine who has to take out some xenomorphs.
